Episode 9 - The Era of Giant Gods
The helmet of Phantom Sword Claude left by Jin is secretly mass-produced for the purpose of regulating superhumans. When Jiro puts on the helmet for operating NUTS, he sees past images that were sealed away, as if he is being guided by residual thoughts. What is the ideal that superhumans should seek? And what is the role that Jiro has played? A terrible incident occurs at the NUTS exhibition in front of Yatsuka Heavy Industry, located in Marunouchi, the center of Tokyo. Superhumans start to take individual action in order to lay down the path for their own future.

In Concrete Revolutio, the NUTS go out of control, and missile attacks cause the deaths of 8 people and 400 wounded by glass splitters.
In the real world, the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Headquarters bombing by the East Asia Anti-Japan Armed Front lead to the deaths of 8 people and 400 wounded by falling glass.
Last week, in Concrete Revolutio, Raito and Saki tried to destroy the NUTS which were transported by the Imperial Advertisement Agency Train.
In the real world, the East-Asian Anti-Japan Armed Front tried to blow up the bridge where Emperor Hirohito's train was passing.
Concrete Revolutio is the fictionalized story of an infamous terrorist cell that tried to change the world to become a better place, but ultimately only caused deaths and tragedy.

Satomi and Magotake talk about how the bomb became a little boy instead of destroying Hiroshima. Satomi is certain that if the bomb had worked as intended, they would have entered the atomic era. Master Ultima wants the power of that little boy. Magotake intends to pay him off with a cyborg-monster instead, which gets stolen by gangster armed with tommy-guns working for the international cabal.

I'm a bit the same, mostly because I thought some of the timeskip stuff would be taken in a more serious manner and with more adversity. I seriously thought Raito died when he and Jiro fought in episode 3(?), and Jiro and the Bureau had become extreme enemy's. The second world will also have its shares of patriotic defenders. The genies and rukhs and other mystical pre-human beings might try to stay in this world, hidden from human eyes as best as possible, and only intervening once it is inevitable for their kind.
It would need a truly mighty wish by the vast majority of humanity to give Demon Queen Hoshinoko the power to take all the superhumans with her.
It's not impossible, though. After all, perhaps that is ultimately what mankind wants.

I don't really understand how the superhumans got blamed for everything this time, when it was pretty clear that the NUTS were the ones going wild. Especially when it was clear that Earth-chan was the one that saved most of the people.

Satomi did intend to let the Jiro League-members trash up the NUTS and then blame their inefficiency on the TRIES Corporation that sold them to Imperial Ads Agency. Too bad that the personality matrix of Claude took hold over its pilots and made them go berserk.
However, the Imperial Ads is a powerful media corporation, so they could definitely at least spin it that NUTS-2 and NUTS-3 did try to attack the criminal space titan Grosse Augen. NUTS-1 could be explained by having faulty targeting systems.
Might be more difficult to explain the REX-FE attacking its own allies and actually helping Grosse Augen, though.
Fortunately, the big movie will and did divert all attention from the NUTS fiasco.
And nobody will be able to really examine if the claims about the NUTS being unreliable is true, now that they're conveniently washed away in the floods.

93 is a lot for a show like this, its not easy to keep up with the story

It doesn't have much of a hook. The quality of each episode varies wildly and the misses tend to be big misses. It's obviously not building up to a satisfying ending since it's a 2cours BONES original. Writing has generally been mediocre, pacing for individual episodes tends to be so breakneck fast that it borders incoherence, moments of actually well-done action scenes are rare and most of the animation is unimpressive.
Plus the characters are painfully static. In 2 cours, the only character who has changed at all is Jiro, and he's regressed from a conflicted but capable government agent to a bumbling manchild desperately trying to cover over his own fuckups.
If you aren't in this for the references or the occasional sakuga explosion, there really isn't much appeal.
Did anyone else catch this? I don't recall seeing Emi in episode 8 near the scene, or was Jiro remembering things incorrectly? I don't think Emi would take on the professor's face just to retrieve Jiro from the scene...

Ah, but wait! The symbol is completely different in this short sequence of Jiro running through a graveyard! Which means, either that sequence (which cuts to Rainbow Knight's death after a white flash) is a false recollection, or it's a completely different suppressed memory that we haven't seen yet. There are also no graves to speak of during the sequence in episode 22 when Rainbow Knight is running with Jiro.

Curious to see how opinion of this show will change once it starts getting watched by people who didn't try it until after it finishes.
I unabashedly love it, but it's definitely a weird show to keep up with for weekly viewing, and undeniably has some pretty weak episodes. Someone who's able to watch the whole thing in a short timeframe might have a completely different view of it.

I thought the graveyard scene was him running to the place Rainbow Knight kept the kids, and ep 22's scene was Jiro and Rainbow Knight running away from it. Plus the angle was tilted up.
Though it still leaves the question of why Jiro's memory was suppressed. Emi/youkais may have done it after she found him.

I don't watch it weekly but rather wait for a few episodes to pile up and then marathon them to catch up. This is the kind of show I couldn't really enjoy watching weekly. As you said, some of the episodes are really weak and when you pull a bad one it just leaves a sour taste in your mouth. Watching them back to back really smooths that over and helps make the standalone episodes feel more connected to one another.

To be honest, Birdmen episode made me bored. Then Devila almost made me drop this show.
You can say that I was saved by Ningen-man.
I find it hard to believe people think we'll never see some of the episodic characters again, after the first cour's finale used basically all of the ones up to that point.
Devila and Devilo might be difficult after they fucked off for outer space, though.

Honestly, I saw it all recently and noticed that there are actually only a few episodes I could call weak, like the comedy superhuman episode or the birdmans episode.
What's more, I think they are outweighed by the good episodes like Nigen-man, Angel Stars lesbian member or the last one.
Seeing it all in a small frame of time has improved my opinion of the show. Though, I still fear for how the ending is gonna be handled.

It might be a worn-out ending but Jiro dying Lelouch-style would be a perfect fit for this series.
The man who was tricked and cheated and lied into killing his hero, and whose blood was used to make terrible monsters but also the man who gave up everything to fight for justice, dies fighting huge and fearful odds to preserve peace and to demonstrate that if superhumans and humans unite for the same cause, they can bring peace upon the world.

After the revelations and seeing the futility of trying to fight against the media, he simply stops, and becomes a sad jaded old man, working as a sarariman, writing autobiographical books about how he wanted to be justice, but couldn't do it.
