But they've been messing with the idea of reflection/refraction that just hides the the object in the same kinds of things you'd see around it (like a mirror cloth) that would work more like camouflage than actual invisibility.
So in the first case, you'd probably see the backs of their heads floating in mid-air (since the cloth would have to wrap all the way around their face to properly bend the light around it), and in the second, you'd still see nothing. And in both cases you'd see their faces just fine from the front, again floating in air.

I know we sometimes make jokes about Flora being a savage, but she really just punches the crap out of stuff and it's pretty apt when you consider she's Strength.
But Lovely really is savage. The unusually-violent mecha stuff is one thing, and seems more like the animators getting cutesy. But she's actually kind of brutal at times, though strangely not always. It's also kind of odd because it's only a fighting persona; like you can try to find sorta-kinda-related personality traits ("she's just super excited/zealous/genki!") but they're not a clean fit at all. She's just seems mean sometimes.
And it just makes that the finale kung fu is even more incongruous. Not less cool/fun, just more out of place.
