Hunter exam was the best arc. All the other arcs brought edginess and DARKNESS to the main characters. Pika with his chain jail shit because of revenge, Gon going crazy and literally killing himself in the ant saga because of revenge. It was pretty much here where I stopped comparing him with Goku. Gin turns out to be a complete asshole with not much reason to abandon his kid.
Killua seems to be the only decent, selfless character in the series.

Hisoka will probably recover his hand using his Bungee Gum, which has the properties of rubber and gum, in tandem with his Texture Surprise. He probably has another ability he'll use as a trump card against Chrollo.
Plus, there's ample evidence this is all a flashback. E.g. Hisoka survived. Notice how he's not wearing his earrings!

In other words, they were all Specialists. Specialists born with abilities, like Neon, are anomalies (created by genetic mutations) who represent what Humanity used to be capable of. And what they must return to. In fact, ALL humans can awaken their Birthright Hatsus in the right environmental conditions. And this is what they must do to become truly strong and surpass all limitations.
Do you see where I'm going with this? Yes. Pic related. Gon "lost" his nen, but due to circumstances in the story, will awaken his TRUE Specialization nen, his Birthright Hatsu! And because his aura storage is limit less, he will become extremely powerful and even more dangerous than Adult Gon... Light Gon!
A Person's True Ability represents who they really are. Their soul's. Gon is light. His power nourishes the world, and he will be able to Synchronize with the nature in the Dark Continent. Unlike Netero etc. who can only fight it.

Rememeber when Meruem (post-Rose) manipulated Photons to find Palm? Light Gon will BECOME photons, and consequently, the sun. Dark Killua will fight him on the side of the planet where it's dark, so it will be day everywhere.
No matter how much destructive energy Killua uses with his Positron Aura to attack Light Gon, it will not be enough because Gon can generate new energy just by wanting it and is the sun now. But he will not use, his newfound power, to destroy, because he has learned that that is not the answer. Vs. Pitou. Sorrow will only make... more sorrow...
So Instead, Light Gon will talk to Dark Killua, and make him remember himself. His light energy will purify Dark Killua's sadness and hatred, enabling him to become Gray Killua, who can switch between normal and Dark states at will like in Ikaruga. Then they will hug, and face off against the story's TRUE villain.

All you're doing is rationalising your own fabricated circumstance that will make it easier for you to cope with the loss. Chrollo had no obligation to fight Hisoka before anything else. Nowhere was it ever stated that fighting him was a priority for Chrollo.
