Such movies normally have the tendency of slowing down too much at the "drama" part but GuP was refreshing fast paced from the beginning to the end.

I am starting to realise what was different between HaiFuri and GuP; in GuP the girls are differentiated between themselves by something OTHER than their tasks or tanks. But in HaiFuri the girls have designated jobs on the ship, and are defined by them. Basically the Haifuri girls are representing their positions, and are not able to be their own persons. The lookout is the lookout girl, the head engineer is the engineer, the doctor, the chefs, etc. They all are made to fit their jobs and we don't see their real personalities.
The GuP cast, when out of their tanks, have their own preferences and behaviours. And it is all distinctively something you can understand.

Well sure, they don't have long bios or anything. But in many ways the GuP girls are defined by what they do outside of the tanks. The fact that the two shows share the same writer means the difference in the characters between these two shows are due to the setting. The HaiFuri crew are stuck on their ship, while 75% of the time the GuP cast are not in a tank. And that is a strange thing to say when the GuP franchise is suppose to be about tanks. I really think they can't top this film. They could go smaller and animate Ribbon Warrior, but they couldn't go further with the main story. Even if they have an international tournament, it wouldn't be as dramatic as what this film already did.
I want more GuP, but I definitely think the main plot about Oorai and Miho has ended. You would need a new protagonist, and perhaps even a new school. The author is intentionally referencing The Old Gang who designed the TOG II and think tank warfare is anythiung like WW1 while they were fighting WW2. Basically each school is given their national characteristic dialled up to 11, and that means going to extremes with the stereotypes. British leaders with outdated thinking, making the lives of those below them doing the actual fighting miserable, is a thing.

They really had no choice, they can't outmanoeuvre their opponents and need to be at point blank range to do any damage. Other than ambushing, which was what they ended up doing, suicidal charges was they only option.

To be fair, the main issue wasn't the tank OR the gun, but the ammunition they used. The ammo they used flatly don't work properly and as such couldn't hurt other tanks. They can kill soft targets but basically had no penetration against armour plating.
Since the ammo in Senshado is supplied by the federation they all work as they were suppose to.
