Then again, the Obelisk Force have never seemed particularly seen on collecting them, they usually just toss them on the ground.
The guy at the base seemed to think turning people in cards was an urgent matter though, complete with strict schedule. Maybe Academia is trying to prevent something. Maybe they only have a limited amount of time to accomplish whatever they want to do.
This is of course not taking into account hitotsu ni and the dragons. The dragons in particular are interesting because they link the Yu counterparts which differs them from the Ruris who don't seem to have any card-related connection but instead plotblocking bracelets.
The Yu boys can interact directly, although some kind of shit goes down if all 4 are in one place. The Ruris can also presumably interact directly as well. It's only when more than on Yu boy is present in front of a Ruri that they get teleported away. But as far as I remember only Yuzu's bracelet works that way and something it teleports her away instead.
And both dragons and bracelets can transport their owners across dimensions...

NAS doesn't care what you want, they know Atem is the face of DM and WILL force him in at any cost even if it means breaking a pre-established pattern.
Even Kaz had to break a promise to himself to keep him out of the movie and he had to go back on his word just to include him as a simulation, giving Yugi Mahad and showing up at the end to duel Kaiba.
If DM characters ever cameo in Arc-V, you can bet Atem is showing up one way or another.

Give her a deck and make her great again just to include even season 0. Also, for other 3 Zexal cameos, Anna (she gets decarded before Arc-VII begins), Kotori, and Rio. Shark would actually be in this current season as a member of the Resistance infiltrating Academia. All other cameos from before Arc-VII get carded.

I saw Zexal and Zexal II and I remember anytime Yuma was the focal point, I was more bored than when Shark/Kaito did things. He wasn't the worst character in his show (Tokunosuke holds that honor),
but he was close just by being so fucking boring and on top of that since he's MC, he's always there to bore you every single ep. It's like having 146 eps with post-64 Yusei or Crow as MC. It's terrible.
As such, it's not hard to consider him the worst given that he makes so many eps more of a slog than they need to be.
