Dear lord
>>140927278
Finally, it was the morning of the big day. Walther was driving you to the farm where the ceremony was going to be held. you had a pounding hangover. You had a stag party the night before, that thankfully mostly involved drinking. Somebody did hire a stripper, but you eventually steered her towards one of your own single friends who had come into town for the ceremony. The cold warriors from the interdimensional mattress had become surprisingly adept at convincing normal people that they were also normal people, who had spent their entire lives in the time, place and culture in which they were currently living. Theo, of course, was completely useless, but according to Pham, he hardly ever left Irisdina's room anyway, so it wasn't an issue. He spent his entire days lying on her bed, his phone plugged into the wall, staring at the tiny screen in his hands, surfing the internet. Sometimes, he went out onto the balcony so he could stare at his tiny screen while smoking the cigarettes he swore up and down to Iris that he never touched. Sometimes, he'd lock himself in the bathroom, soaking in the tub, staring at the tiny screen in his hands. Practically the only time he wasn't surfing the internet on his phone was when he went on the mandatory (for him) group runs through the neighborhood, which at least kept him human-shaped despite his total lack of other activity.
You sip on the Gatorade in your lap. You don't know why you were thinking about Theo right now, anyway. Today isn't about him, it's about his sister. You like his sister more, though, come to think of it, that's exactly how she reacted when she first arrived, minus the cigarettes. In a lot of ways, they are a lot alike. You pull into the driveway of the bed and breakfast, and head to Your tiny room, to get changed. For some reason, in the name of convention, You've been staying separately from Lise since you arrived at the Bed and Breakfast, part of the whole wedding thing.
>>140928424
So, is that her best friend who had her raped, who Sylwia later killed in retaliation?
>>140928535

>>140928535
You change into your Tuxedo, put on the shoes, and head over towards the chapel. You've been alone since you got into the bed and breakfast room. Showering alone, in particular, was a lonely and depressing experience. You vow to yourself never to shower without a pair of knockers again, because the experience is just too horrible to think about. As you walk to the chapel, you suddenly feel very alone. Everyone else is doing their own thing to get ready for the ceremony, and despite the fact that it is your big day, nobody is really paying any attention to you right now. You slip into the chapel, and take a look around. It seems like it must be some sort of Calvinist or Puritan affair, with nothing but brightly polished church pews, whitewashed walls, and a simple cross on the altar. You cross the center aisle, not sure what to do. Are you supposed to bow now? No, that's a Catholic thing, and you aren't bowing to the crucifix, you're bowing to the consecrated Eucharist that is kept in the sanctuary. You opt instead to just sit down. You try to move quietly, but the leather soles of your shoes and the hardwood floor of the church conspiring against you to mark every step you take with a purposeful tap. You eventually make it to the second row of pews, and sit down.
It's a little bit scary. After this, things will be different. Or will they? You've attended three weddings since you arrived, but each of those seemed to have been just fulfilling an action that was already decided on, but had been deferred. Beatrix and Jurgen had gone ahead and tied the knot purely to avoid the judgmental gaze of the almighty sister. Walther and Sylwia had essentially been married since they first arrived here, but hadn't thought to formalize it until witnessing Jurgen and Beatrix. Inghild and Marco had been torn apart as young lovers, and sought a way to tell each other and themselves that they would never be parted again for as long as they lived, and forever after.

Your own love had been different. There was nothing inevitable about it. Taking Lise in, and helping her become a semi-normal, mostly functional human being again, had been the most difficult and frightening ordeal you had ever gone through. It had also been the most rewarding. It seems fitting that a love had blossomed from that struggle. Teaching her how to love again, and how to be loved, and how to love herself, was possibly your greatest triumph. You lean forward, with your elbows on the pew in front of you, and contemplate the two years previous to today.
"Wake up, it's time for your wedding!"
You feel an elbow jamming itself violently into your ribs, and after a moment of quiet contemplation, decide to sit up and take stock of the situation. Your best man, a childhood friend from back home, is gently trying to wake you, at least in his own way, by his own standard of gentleness. You look around, and people are filing into the chapel. You take your place on the altar, and wait. Just before the ceremony starts, You see Mrs. Hohenstein, Beatrix, and Farka file into the building and take their seats, with Farka acting as chief bridesmaid, since unlike Beatrix, she had not already been spoken for. Finally, the host of the bed and breakfast, who is actually a fairly talented pianist, starts the entrance theme, and Lise steps into the hall, holding her father's hand.
Lise is beautiful. She's wearing a blue wedding down, that sunny teal that matches her eyes perfectly. She said she didn't want to wear white, that she didn't want to pretend to be someone she's not. She said that since you loved her for the real Lise Hohenstein, the real Lise Hohenstein should be the person you marry. You don't buy the metaphorical significance of a white wedding dress yourself, but it doesn't matter. Lise Hohenstein is absolutely gorgeous today.
>>140928379
Comrade, use gud quality next time, okay?
>>140928053
Is this the LN version of the execution threat on the rooftop?
>>140929928
Oh shit its happening.
>>140929938
Yes it is. Shame Lise and Sylwia never got a chance to really know each other's pasts. They could bond over shared unpleasant sexual experiences. Though Lise had it worse 100 times over, its nice having someone to talk to who understands.
>>140930108
Lise wasn't betrayed though, she was just victimized. Sylwia got sold for thirty pieces of silver. even if the actual rape wasn't as bad, the things leading up to it were arguably worse.
>>140929928
As she walked down the aisle, the world melted away, and it seemed that the only things left in the universe were yourself and the radiant girl in the blue dress, standing across from you. The preacher read the vows, but you didn't hear hardly any of it. Finally;
"...and do you take this woman as your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do."
He says some more things, but you don't remember any of it. All you are aware of is the girl standing beside you.
"You may now kiss the bride."
You lean forward, and so does she. As your lips touch, it seems as though you and her also melt away, leaving nothing in the universe but the love you share. For a moment, that love is the total sum of all existence. Everything that has been, is now, and will ever be.
You finally break away, and the hostess plays a recessional hymn, and you carry your bride out of the chapel and towards the red barn on the other side of the lawn, which has been set up as a venue for this kind of thing. Maybe carrying her isn't the 'correct' thing to do, but she's tiny and light, and you're strong. You feel especially strong now. As you step into the fresh air, the universe comes coursing back to you, and you're suddenly aware of the girl cradled in your arms, smiling up at you. You let her down, and you walk the rest of the way to the barn, being followed by your friends and family. As you step into the barn, Lise turns to you and grins.
"It's happening."
>>140930496
Yes its worse to be betrayed than just victimized. Its also worse to get raped repeatedly and forced to prostitute for your rapists for years then having it happen just once. Comparing how both ended up in their respective situations pales in comparison to the experiences themselves.
>>140930911
well, yeah. I guess the point is, in its own way, Sylwia's experience was equally bad. Fortunately for her, she found a person that loved her as she was, even if that love was tragically cut short.
>>140930568
You get to the barn, and Lise has you help her out of the wedding dress' skirt, leaving her wearing a rather glorious looking cocktail dress. It's a common feature on wedding dresses these days, but a clever one. the full length skirt is eschewed as soon as the ceremony is over, and Lise can move through the crowd of people she knows and loves with relative ease. Calling it a crowd might be a bit optimistic. There are perhaps fifty people there, of whom 30 or so are on your side. You feel giddy. Whatever speed bumps and minor crises Lise had faced in the week leading up to the wedding had been dealt with by her mother and best friends. You never had time to deal with all the sources of your personal anxieties leading up to the ceremony, but now that it is over, they feel as if they have magically dissapeared. You grab a bottle of Prosecco out of a tub of Ice, and send the cork into the rafters. You want to drink it out of the bottle, that seems to fit the mood, but you tried that once, and it;s a much better idea in theory than in practice. Instead, you pour the contents of the bottle into a beer stein, and move through the crowd.
You eschew your tuxdeo jacket, as well as the noose constricting your neck, and unbutton the top three buttons of your shirt. Somewhere, somebody turns on the music, and the party starts. You'll eventually get to the toasts, and the dances, but now it's just a moment to relax and enjoy the occasion. The Prosecco lends you it's spirit, giving you a warm, bubbly, enthusiastic buzz that helps you float through the crowd, your wife on your arm, thanking everybody for being there, and in turn be congratulated for finally tying the knot. The rest of the day is a blur, until finally, you find yourself alone in the cottage across the lake with Lise. You take your customary shower together, and then spend the entire night relearning in minute detail everything you had ever learned about her body, and her soul.
I want to get Lise and Katia drugged enough to convince them to kiss each other.
>>140931314
Oh no
Is this the end
>>140931189
>in its own way, Sylwia's experience was equally bad
No. I'm sorry I love Sylwia too and I don't wanna argue since they're both tragic but objectively they're not equal. And you're right she did find a person who loved her as she was. Lise didn't. In fact she was executed by the person she went through all of that for in the first place.

That's my guess is all, she was neither suicidal nor had a good chance of actually hitting Lise with a non-homing RPG shot so I doubt she'd kill herself for that. I can only suppose she did it in the hopes that a temporary reprive from the high end of combat would make Theo calm down or something.
>>140936437
Nope, it is going to be about foibe massacres.
>>140938882
What RPG teams? There was no rebels left on the base.
Wanting to die and accepting your death are two very different concepts anon. In fact, the former is tied almost to a lack of the latter. She knew what she had to do. She could have backed out, gone away, but she would never do that - to be there for her beloved younger brother when he would most need it.
That is Pham, the very essence of her - self sacrifical, conditionless love. Recognizing what is the path that leads to the better day, or greater hope, even if it's filled with suffering - the path of love and kind hearts, that is the path Pham will always take.
And if somehow given the chance to try again, knowing that that is her fate if she walks that path, then still never hesitating to choose the same way again, THAT is what it means to be Pham, and walk with her as a Phamfag.
The last lights must never die.

You are aware that the hip is small enough that you can see everyone onboard? And that in most cases you have someone to go around and check if everyone in onboard. It is not a Mi-26
They also had the 666th on the same helicopter so they would put her on it if they cared about Pham unless she got permission to walk away with a RPG in hand or she just ran away.

Only TechGian gets the good, colored illustrations. The LN compilations usually stick to black and white. What's really maddening is that this extends even to the electronic LN volumes where there is no penny pinching to be had from forgoing colored illustrations. We might get lucky and get another artbook, but Age hasn't printed one of those in a long time, and Carnelian's art books focus solely on Irisdina whenever they feature Schwarzesmarken content.

As to the topic of TSFiA 60... It's odd, but the fact that the East Germans are still using imported Soviet equipment indicates that there isn't much left. >>140949304
I think that's more or less what happened. EU is holding the line in North Africa (Suez and Gibraltar), and we know from IW that a lot of Europeans wound up in South America/Africa. I suspect that the French began an project to that effect (Op. Dunkirk) and the British conducted its own efforts to hedge their bets against a cross-Chanel landing (which happened, but was repelled at London).
If/When the British didn't need their enclaves as much, they could have used them to store extra Germans or whatever.
With three years of lead-up time, I can think of a couple of ways you could set up enclaves to be ready to accept a massive influx of evacuees and not have conditions degenerate into Somalia-tier shit.

>>140949831
>her reports being so prophetic like accurate
That's sort of the suspicious part. The fact that her reports were so accurate, and yet she redacted the shit of them, and the fact on one else ever came close to similar conclusions in two decades of working on G-Bombs seems extremely implausible.
If the predictions were 'easy', extensions of understood principles, then someone else should have known about them. If they were 'hard', based on as-yet unknown interactions of the B-Bombs, then she should not have been able to make such accurate predictions without empirical information. Further, in the both scenarios, publishing her research would have been sufficient to make the necessary corrections to Alt V.
If she didn't sabotage it, she saw the end of the world as preferable to her being wrong.

yuuko found it useful so she fucking continued the project since she had a idea that might can be help
But, though i do admit that her building an autistic super computer that malfunctions when gets jealous was kinda retarded
>>140950526
>yuuko found it useful so she fucking continued the project since she had a idea that might can be help
What game did you play? She didn't do shit expect provide the 00 Unit. There was no 'Continuity of the project' on her part.
And she didn't even see it as anything other than a delivery system for the 00 Units, when it turned out that the only significant contribution of the 00 Unit was making the Valkyrie fully operational.
>>140950612
also isn't that 00 Units the product of her sister's research?

I think the physical system might have been. I'm not sure what the split was.

We will see what type of person you will become after being violently tortured, raped and forced to work for the very people who have and keep disgracying yourself.
Yes I am a Lisefag.
The others were in position of power though and were moraly deficient from the start.
>>140950415
Same back at you.
>>140950468
Anime Lise deserves a place in a mental institute at most. LN Lise was not at all beyond saving. VN Lise we have yet to fully see.
>>140950857
>lisefag
>no concept of agency
What surprise.
>>140950857
>Yes I eat shit
>>140951140
Well, she got that, and even Theo to some extent.
And then there was THAT BUMP.
I don't think there's a point to discuss if Yuuko is evil, as the series itself presents her as sort of shitty utilitarian. She isn't really presented as a hero.
But I think she's well written character, definitely one of the more complex characters of the cast. It's surprising because in extra she was just a comedy character and in unlimited a walking plot device. Wouldn't have guessed I start liking her.
>>140951142
Concept of agency in muv luv DDR in the hand of the Stasi.
Obey and have a tiny hope or die a horrible death after seeing the person you love brutaly killed.
What do you choose? Suicide? As if...
>>140951142
If you wanna use agency as an argument, I know a man more suited for your attention.
>do what we say or we will torture and kill you and your loved ones.
Thats an impossible situation to get out of.
>>140950857
Yeah, I don't know why he put Lise on there, but Beatrix and Yuuko were chaoitic evil from the start.
>>140951949
Oh, I`m sure firing squad will take that into account.
>>140951850
Bullshit. Agency is not equal to power in any way.
SO if there is one thing I've learned, it's that people who say that they're sacrificing the most for humanity are really the ones who are hurting it the most. I wonder how much of a better place the world would be had Yuuko and Beatrix died young.
>>140952611
The difference between the two was that Yuko was a shitty utilitarian with sadistic qualities while Beatrice was a a sadist with shitty utilitarian qualities.
You have to hand it to beatofags, at the very least they don`t offer dumb excuses for their brand of monstrosity.
Beatofags, squat here, you`re allright.
>>140952384
Most Lisefags forget this. In a world in which there were not martyrs, they might even have a point.
>>140952611
>SO if there is one thing I've learned, it's that people who say that they're sacrificing the most for humanity are really the ones who are hurting it the most.
This is a solid observation in general. It's why you've got to be VERY careful about any sort of 'Greater Good' justification.
>>140952854
I think you are vastly overestimating the people with the mettle to die for their ideals, but you do have a point.
>>140952843
They're all superficial cucks anyways. If they looked deeper, they'd find someone who is one of the ugliest characters imaginable.
Katia or Iris are where it's at.
>>140953018
I don't really think they were fighting for the greater good, but just using it as an excuse to do shit.
>>140951815
>unlimited a walking plot device.
I think she says a plot device in Alternative. She might also have a developed character, but the fact that she seems to be able to accomplish anything necessary to advance the plot in a negligible span of time (but nothing else) never really stopped bothering me.
>>140952843
Wonder how they'll all feel when their waifu rips their balls off and force feeds it to them just because they looked at her.
>>140953071
>I don't really think they were fighting for the greater good, but just using it as an excuse to do shit.
That's the other really big concern. No shortage of historical examples of it, for sure.
>>140953071
>Katia or Iris are where it's at.
I feel like either of them could have been better stories; SUFFERING and GRIMDERP =/= good narrative. With Iris, you could have done a similar angle on sacrifice and compromise, but with someone who actually did despise it, and acted on that by actually trying to retain some ethics.
Katia, on the other hand, could have done an initially dark 'loss of innocence' setup, then shifted into a transformation of her from youthfully naive to idealistic nobility. The whole thing could be set up as a deconstruction of Beatrix's core theme that morality is incompatible with reality.
>Somebody has to start. Somebody has to step forward and do what is right, because it is right.
>>140953454
The ultimate test.
But the balls are not for forcefeeding, but for himbeertorte.

>>140954022
I`m working the paperwork in these threads.
>>140953878
I think the fact that 9/10ths of Europeans managed to survive offers enough of a refutation of Beatrix's "supposed" ideals, but it's arguable if she really believed those ideals to begin with. Really, just having people who can still love one another and trust each other despite her efforts to drag them down into the abyss with her is enough of an argument against Beatrix.
Anyone else think that the black and white nature of SM's conflicts/characters seriously hurts it?
>>140954709

>Ax will kill Theo
Getting real tired of this bullshit. There is literally nothing to point to that, moreover, he just as well may be Axmanns way closer to Iris. Anyone with two braincells will consider paranoid edgelord with a huge red mark on his resume getting into the premier squad highly suspicious.
hello boys!
Let us continue from where we left off.
>>140955089
What would stop Axmann from taking an ex run-away?
>>140955260
Nothing, if it serves his goals. Ax is a machiavellian realist, he doesn`t give a fuck.
>>140955089
They would have no leverage over Lise if they didn't hang that over her head.
>>140955089
She only has to believe it, it matters little if they kill him or not.
>>140954846
4 to 5 guys on a Western thread is evidence enough? Because if it was like that, only fetishists would like Beatrix. And do you truly believe that 50%+ of the Japanese fandom have a fetish for sadism?
>>140955255
Why does every class has to have a Rin.
>>140955339
Endlessly repeating I WILL KILL UR BROTHA is just discarding this leverage by different name. She`s a smart girl, should have figured things out.
>>140955089
Lise has no way of posting this and can't call his bluff either way.
Lises appeal isn't that she's good, or bad. But that she's a normal, relatable person who was thrust into an impossible situation and is trying to do the best she can.

And since when has Beatrixor Yuuko for that matterbeen popular with over 50% of the Jap fandom. Weren't they all Irisfags for the most part?
Also, as far as Lise, it's easy to believe Axmann's crap when he's had absolute control over her life for so long. It still raises questions why she didn't flee when finally united with her loved one.
>>140955408
>I figured it out! You can't do anything to my brother since he his protected in the NVA haha!

>>140955534
They are not 50%+ Beatofags, but at least that many believe she had a point and that her plan was viable. And Lise did try to get her Brother to flee, he didn't cooperate.
>>140955365
>And do you truly believe that 50%+ of the Japanese fandom have a fetish for sadism?
It wouldn't surprise me. Plus, she's hot, so as long as there's a token claim of purpose made, the moral considerations simply don't enter into play for most people.
>>140954709
No. I think this obsession with everything needed to be an even moral grey is the problem.
>>140955723
The way she does that will only fuel his paranoia, and rightly so.
His own rationalization to Iris how fucking Lise will somehow allow him and by extension 666 to control her is just as dumb.

It definitely makes it less interesting.
>>140955939
Have you read the LN?
>>140955939
>they can read the Trilogy
That was just a story of SUFFERING and despair; I don't feel like it actually raises its own moral questions.
There are some stories that manage to do the moral ambivalence thing well, like... I'll get back to you on that.
>>140930108
"Quick Lise, hide your purity from that lewd cow!"- Theo the Oblivious.
>>140956028
>Have you read the LN?
Yes, and it feels like a lot of people are claiming it supports them and then banking on on one disagreeing with them having also read it. It characterizes Beatrix more, but her actions are just evil and her plan is just as stupid.
>>140956131
BIS really fucked things up.
>>140941254
Good observations!
Well Beatrix teases, and I suppose she's oneesan to the Werewolves, but otherwise she isn't that much, is she?
Did anyone draw Stella with a hair flower? Yuuya did nickname her Venus, so there's that...
"Beatrix is literally Hitler" and "Beatrix and Yuuko should have died as children" need to be added, since they've become as standard as the rest.
>>140956131
Well, it seems that Watanabe's interpretation isn't that uncommon.
>>140955677
It's like people can be manipulated using these things called "emotions" and they tend to make very stupid choices based on these.
It's not about having Theo hanging over her head as a metaphorical sword of Damocles, it's about letting her come up with the assumption that is the case, and keeping her emotionally unbalanced just enough to be useful while negating her the advantage of critical thinking that comes in with approaching situations well after the fact.
>But nooo, it's obviously wrong cause I have access to all the information she doesn't as an outsider watching in thru the forth wall.

SSY does ambiguity very well. The key with that story though, is that it gives everyone fairly rational and understandable motives. The problem with a lot of stories that aim for 'ambiguity' (and what GoT has devolved into), is that everyone just sucks and is awful. That's not ambiguity, it's just a 180 role reversal and SUFFERING for suffering's sake. Well done ambiguous stories tend to be more melancholy than just grimdark in my experience.
