Title: The Illustrated Story in “The World”
- Vito reveals the tale behind “Germa 66″
- Germa 66 were a demonic army who clashed with the marines and based on their various confrontations the Navy created famous stories regarding the “Heroes” of the Navy.
- It was an Illustrated Story published in “The World” (An International Newspaper)
- “The brave warrior of the sea who could walk on top of the sea named “Sora” and the ROBO alliance and Kanome duked it out with the demonic army Germa 66″
- There are fans of the story all over world!
- Essentially it was a tale that was made to brainwash the kids with the Navy ideology.
- Sanji is connected to them.
- An assassin from the Capone’s crew named Goti is angry at Sanji and even Vito can’t stop him.
- A character very similar looking to Lola (From Thriller Bark) appears and scolds Goti for his actions. Even he can’t escape her wrath.
Out on the Sea:
- Luffy and co have no food. They’re suffering from starvation.
- Luffy, Pedro, Chopper and Brook decide to go and fish for food.
- Out appears a huge fish that they manage to capture.
- Luffy can’t hold back and is wants to dig in straight away. Chopper goes after Sanji’s cookbooks and looks into how to prepare the fish. Luffy has already begun to eat it before everyone else.
- Everyone is satisfied with fish but Luffy has been ‘poisoned’ by eating the fish before preparations and is out cold.
- The rest of the crew are looking to make their way through Big Moms territory when Pekoms explains why ships on her waters never make it through without her say.
- Under the sea, there are telepathic sea creatures which send signals to Big Mom’s ships if there are unidentified ships on Big Mom’s waters.
- Out of the mist ahead appears a huge ship belonging to Germa 66. In the ship, a guy with a curly eyebrow observes with a threatening look at the Sunny!

Luffy ate the fish before it was cooked. Its a poison fish (猛毒) and Chopper noticed by the skin colour of the fish which was written about in Sanji's cookbook. It had to be prepared properly and Luffy didn't wait...

It's good writing to avoid too many Deus ex Machina where all of a sudden, a character brings forth a super power. Because the missing eye buildup has been going on for a long time, it's much easier for Oda to avoid the "All of a Sudden - POWER!" because everyone will point to that missing eye that has multiple years of build up. It thus is not a sudden surprise power and the audience will go Yay once again.

My headcanon is that he traded his eye for a conditional victory while sparring with Mihawk. Most people wouldve backed away from the injury but, similar to their first meeting, Zoros ambition drove him forward. He was able to hit Mihawk but lost his eye in the process.
Since then, Mihawk has had to treat Zoro as a sort of equal - using Yoru to duel Zoro for the rest of his training.

Instead of smoking cigars to charge up, he can smoke reefers and then the smoke cloud will truly confound the enemy! Smoker is immune to effects of course. He can try turning fluid items into vapor and that would make for quite a good fuel-air explosion. That could be done with flour too since his smoke ability would distribute the flour grains fairly evenly for max explosion effect.

Thats where I disagree. We get the one moment of "I WANNA LIVE!" for our needed emotional scene, then its nothing but fights. Of all the fights, Luffy vs Blueno, Luffy vs Lucci, Zoro, and Sanji all win through ass pulls.
Yeah, they were ass pull powers. They had absolutely no pretense as to how the characters magically knew they could do any of these things and had a very small amount of time on the sea train to do anything, yet they can whip out all this shit like they've known it all along.

I suggest that Sanji's (probably) grandfather was the rival pirate who killed Brook's crew in the Florian Triangle. And when Germa 66 was founded, they used the Florian Triangle as their headquarters. Moria was unmolested by them because he was a Shichibukai, and there's some link between Germa 66 and the World Government, as shown by the change on Sanji's wanted poster.
So the thing in the picture is some creature or structure that belongs to Germa 66. They abducted Lola, who is quite possibly another of Big Mom's daughters. I have a strong feeling that the Vinsmoke's plan here ultimately involves betraying Big Mom, and they're holding Lola as part of that.

I really doubt the Florian Triangle monsters are ever going to be explained.
The Florian Triangle was a mysterious, inexplicable, haunted sea where men disappeared by seemingly supernatural causes. Over the course of the arc every mystery seemed to be resolved by "Moria did it," with even the crew itself believing that all the legends were just a part of his haunted house show.
They were a bookend to the Thriller Bark arc, revealing that there's really was something strange and unreal about the Florian Triangle. The legend will continue to exist, and giving them a proper explanation like "they're sea kings" or "they're the elephant herd" completely undoes that.

Mangapanda is accurate in a literal sense. Imagine taking the raw Japanese and plugging it into Google translate. It often may not sound coherent, but what you read is what it says.
Mangastream is on the other end of the spectrum. Easy to understand but uses gratuitous swearing and western idioms. It's more like having your friend paraphrase the chapter to you.
Viz is generally considered to have the best of both worlds, but their usage of proper nouns is garbage (Happosui army, Zolo, etc.). This can be due to a variety of reasons, like the fact that Viz is an official publisher, meaning they're not allowed to use names that may infringe on trademarks or copyrights. They also tend to completely remove foul language even though it does exist.
Powermanga is probably the best of the four. Coherent translations that still retain information, little-to-no westernization of the dialogue, and good translations of proper nouns. If there's any issues at all, it's that they release later than the other three and they often invoke translation notes on their pages. Not always a bad thing; I personally prefer them, but I know some people who'd prefer a looser definition of an "untranslatable" word or phrase without having to read notes every other page.

A lot of Viz's problems with proper nouns also stem from back in the day when they wanted to create synergy with the 4kids dub. They can't fix things like Zoro's name because they had already stuck with it for like three sagas.
They still get weird from time to time but overall they do a good job with new material. It's just a shame we still have to deal with baggage from 2004-2006.

Roger was Garp's eldest son, which would explain all of the similarities between Roger/Ace and the Monkey family. There was a noticeable age difference between the two when they spoke in prison and I still think Garp took Ace too willingly. The timeline matches perfectly because Brook remembers hearing about the Roger pirates when he was alive, placing Garp in his 70/80's if he theoretically fathered Roger in his 20/30's.
What's more, Ace and Luffy are relatively the same age so it stands to reason that their fathers would be too. Dragon was also at Roger's execution but was interestingly the only one there who wasn't inspired to become a pirate, but rather chose to found an army dedicated to overthrowing the same people who executed Roger.

I tend to treat Strong World as part of the story and recommend my friends to watch it post-Thriller Bark just so Brook gets some extra time with the crew right before the timeskip. The minor inconsistencies with Zoro's injuries not bothering him and Brook mentioning that the Fishman Riders were his first fight as a member of the crew are all pretty easy to overlook so it doesn't fuck with the plot much at all.

I agree that it'll be a bit late if someone joins after both Big Mom and Kaido are down since by that point most of the obstacles will be down but that's like three or four years from now. Oda's use of percentages has always been completely off. For the entire first half of the series he kept saying it was roughly halfway done, and ever since he's been saying its over half or two-thirds.
We still need to see Whole Cake Island, Wanokuni, the Reverie, Vegapunk, Elbaf, Raftel and the Great War finale, and that's assuming there's literally no surprises or unrevealed islands along the way which is unlikely. If we removed the Davy Back Fight it'd still be replaced with something else. A relief arc between the Skypeia saga and Water 7 saga was necessary as hell, going directly into a second extremely long and heavy arc would have caused a burnout.
