GC was entertaining enough to finish but overall just generally bad.

Eh, I don't really feel that I did.

Guilty crown was alright, had alot of potential, i just felt like it was to much like code geass with the whole "im a bad guy but actually really goooood" type thing

Eh, that wasn't even used in the same way as what code geass did. It was used for a villain rather than the protagonist, which is common enough. If anything, what really hurt Guilty Crown was how it tried to be a lot closer to a bizarre version of Eureka 7 and Evangelion where the main character suffers and the romance with his girl is presented as important yet doesn't get a satisfying resolution.
