Is One Punch Man the closest anime has to offer as an art? The hyper styling of both the characters and the villains seem to be something that nearly all character designers and animators of today seem to avoid entirely.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a case of OPM being something of a pinnacle in both Japanese art and story telling. The themes of trans-humanism as well as strength through strength seem so common and reoccurrent that I can't help but see it as a, not only a classic piece of anime history, but as a piece of art to the world.
Why is it that NOTHING had come close to matching the quality of OPM's visuals and story telling? Is the mediocrity of today's artist because of their blatant lack of skill, or is Madhouse just among the greatest storytellers of the world?
I know many of you get upset at it because it's popular, but look past it and think of how incredible it is as a work.

first of all, TTGL was an original anime whereas OPM is an anime adaptation from a manga
