Is anyone else really surprised by how much they are enjoying this show?
Like, I really was not expecting to like this "trapped in a fantasy world #135153" schlock because the only show like that I did enjoy was Log Horizon, but something about this show is just hitting a sweet spot for me.
I think it's the main character. Who would have thought that throwing Kirito, Bell, Kazuma, and Okabe into a blender set to puree would have produced something this good?

The problem with the show isn't the characters but the time resets. Takes all the tension out of the story because the mc can just reset remembering the events. Honestly he can just trial and error his way to whatever goal he wants.
If there was a set limit of lives he has then it would bring more tension and also for the love of god, explain how he got there in the first place.

It doesn't take the tension out if we have no idea what the rules surrounding the time loops even are yet. For all we know, any given loop could be his last, and it's unclear as to whether that's the only 'save point' or how theoretical 'save points' would be changed.

In All You Need Is Kill, for example, you know the hero will win from the start since he can't fail. But you don't know how fucked up he is going to get on the way there, which is half the fun of groundhog days.

It's a different kind of suffering. The idea here is that most of the time he has no idea how his death happened and he has to manage to figure it out every single time by doing something different, while it's clearly taking a toll on him mentally. The world is kinda unfair in some aspects too, but that will be explored later.
