I found it very engaging to watch over the two years it ran, with the only weak point being the many recaps in the latter half and some of the jokes not landing (which often was the point though). I feel the only thing that speaks against marathoning it is its runtime. But there are worse examples for that purpose.
Such as pic related that started at the same time. I absolutely loved large stretches of it, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to watch it in its entirety, especially not as a marathon.
Most long, purely comedy series qualify as well. I've only watched one episode of it, but Gintama would probably be terrible to marathon.

Well basically, a boy falls in love with a girl.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the girl’s phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day’s confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. Actually, skipping most of the op's and the ed's made it more like 18 hours.
And there is a story behind that. Basically, I was riding my bike and listening to Hatsune Miku's tripe baka. I didn't notice a car coming and I got run over. I flew over the car and landed on asphalt. I broke my thumb and slightly scraped the skin off my knee. I had to spend at least 7 days on the bed (while I didn't suffer any serious injuries, it did hurt like hell when I walked around) so staying in bed all day was pretty boring, so I watched some anime. During that week, I marathoned many shows.
