Reminds me of a children's book where it's about a dinosaur and a kid and their hardships that lead to how they both meet up in the middle of the book and become friends. You flip upside down it to read each side of the story. It was unique in that I've never seen a story do that before.

can't speak for everyone else but im sick of naruto/bleach/fairytail-esk characters who have to work their asses up from the bottom of the barrel through insane cringe worthy ex machinas of friendship and hard work. I'd much prefer to read something where the ex machina is hard coded into the plot, with cold harsh realities waiting for the people who think they're top shit, or can just friendship love power their way through any major antagonistic encounter like in overlord. I enjoy the world and character building. How our protagonist has to learn about his world without being a scrub about it. I love how the characters gain self awareness and goals of their own.
