Zexal is pronounced Zeal
I stopped Yugioh after 5D's because Zexal looked really boring, and I was right from what I heard of it. Arc V is supposedly really fun and has characters from previous series appearing as parallel universe versions so I've been wanting to pick it up again.
Each series all have their own up and down arcs, but they're all excellent shows that makes you excited with tons of shouting and hot blood. The biggest theme is always the power of FRIENDSHIP and the stories always warm my heart.
First one has Kaiba and should be watched just for him. Last season also has some of the hypest scenes in all of anime.
GX is fun but a bit weird at times. It's the first "new" season after the original, and seeing how much Kaiba is popular and a great character, there's a total of 3 characters copypasted from him in this series. They're still good though. Most people hate season 3 but I like it the most. The characters grow every season and change classes so you follow them all their high school life like >>139821412

5D's is the CHILDREN CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES one, which is actually really cool and fun despite all the mockery it got when it was announced. A lot of fans consider the first two seasons to be just as good as the best parts of Duel Monsters.
Sadly when season3 starts it gets really dragged on the mud though, but thankfully gets better after that until the end of the series.
The truth is 5D's was crippled by staff problems and some characters and parts of the stories were heavily modified or cut because of them.
If not for them it may have been the season that would have surpassed DM. It also has one of the coolest OP animation ever

I find GX's pace similar to early PP as they are just facing the weekly campus shenanigan and nothing changes permanently. Of course it doesn't apply to them as a whole, but I feel that for example, dude isn't going to last 150 episodes if he isn't into having fun while defeating bad of the week and moving on into the next one. I didn't mean to say it's the same type of wacky as PP. It doesn't have -happenings- or a big string of plot moving it forward, each season is more self contained than, let's say, motorcycles.

Probably, yeah. Most of the new characters of S2 are either self-introductory or were sent away (for now). The only one you might feel confused about is Garuru but then again it's Pripara so you kinda of have to go with the flow either way.I'd really suggest watching s2 though, once you start going it'll be hard to stop since it builds some great momentum and rarely ever stops.
