>Attaches himself to him.
>Assimilates nearly all of Earth.
>Gang gets back and half the world is destroyed.
Plus the added tension of Goku being unable to kill Gohan would be great.
You didn't even mention the part of the Toriyama interview that said he was originally considering making SSGSS white instead of blue but then realized it'd conflict with the style of the villain he had planned for after the tournament.

The interview also said that it was a "popular" character. Baby was not a popular character from what I remember. About the only major character that actually was considered popular from GT was Omega and Nuova Shenron, particularly Omega considering how many appearances he's made in video games.

As much as I hated GT, the idea behind Baby was alright. I liked that they attempted to flesh out the story of the origins of the Saiyan race. Wouldn't mind Baby being a villain as long as it's not just a rehash of GT. Hopefully his ability is completely different. We already had two villains who's ability was absorption.
If it's not Baby, then maybe another Android? Super 17 was in GT, though he didn't have white hair. There's also Android 13 from the movies.
Anyway, I just hope we get at least one semi-serious arc. I love all the slice-of-life stuff in Super and the comedy but I could do with some suspense now and then.
