Just a light box i made out of a cardboard box and tissue paper, 2 light panels I made of of daylight LED strips and a tripod with a DSLR of course.
Looks ghetto but it works. The light box cost $3 in dollar store materials; box, tissue paper and poster board for the backdrop. the light panels cost me $14 each for the LED strips and another dollar for the plastic they are attached too. They are identical in output to the $200 ones some "professional lighting" places charge. I also plug in my TV to my camera so I can properly review the picture after I take it.

Well it's a guide book like S1 had so it's mostly the concept art on basically everything. Each character and what outfits they wore, the building concepts inside and out and a lot. the food and others. The beginning 20 pages had the official art which some weren't very lewd, maybe the pajama ones were pretty erotic. If you've seen all or tons of official scans for S2, then it's in the book as well. This is one of my favorite pages showing off the flyers/maps/etc and such used in S2. It's somewhere in my pile of books but there is an Usagi art book that has lewd since it's all directly from Koi.
Take multiple pictures of each shot trying to ensure that at least one will be properly in focus. Reduce exposure time if there is too much sunlight. It can be difficult to retrieve details in post processing if the excessive light blares it all out.

The shading on the hair looks nice and the character design isn't terrible (beauty mark is a nice touch) but the source is kind of meh and for a static figure the body could use better details. Pretty much, I increased the lighting for each shelf from 1 strip to 2 strips, and changed the ceiling to have 4 strips instead of 1. With the old design the figures in the back row were poorly illuminated, and the top shelf in particular was extremely poorly illuminated.
There's around 8-10m of LED lights in with the new design. I could possibly upgrade it even more by adding lights to the sides, but I would need a more powerful power supply to do that.

People don't like them because they're 1/10 and double the price of prize figures which are usually in the same range of size. They usually have decal eyes. And don't have paint or gradient mostly. For example, that promotional image for the figure you want definitely has blush painted on, and shading on the skin, and pink tipped hair. But you should check the retail version pictures, since it probably won't have those things.
For the price they're acceptable. But once you start collecting larger scale figures your 1/10 will feel inferior until you get more figures.
This is why you'll see people here saying 1/8 or 1/7 size figures are shit. Probably because they are new collectors and just bought their first 1/6 size.

That shit removes the matte finish if you rub it hard (that kind of paintjob which makes figure's skin look smooth), I recommend a kabuki makeup brush with an electric duster or canned air will do, they will get the job done nicely and faster than a microphiber.
