Shinra didn't want Celty to get her head back because he feared she would disappear. But when he was thrown into the air and cut her head once more he proved to her at what length he was ready to go to stay with her, and since she loves him she decides to stay after all.

Just to clear up any confusion, Kujiragi cut Shinra when she kidnapped him, that's how he gets Saika. When he's in the car after she gives him to Varona his eyes are glowing red.

Originally there was one saika which was in Kujiragi's possession.
Kujiragi split the saika in two, kept one part, and gave the other to Shingen (or at least Nebula), which Shingen used to cut Celty's head.
Shingen then sold the saika to Sonohara-dou (Anri's father, who owns an antique shop).
You should figure out the rest. (mother gets possessed by Saika, becomes the original slasher, possibly slashes Niekawa, then dies, Anri gets her saika)

I didn't really care for the high school kids at first but I really did get attached to them. I adore Celty and her relationship with Shinra which is probably one of my favorite relationships of all time. The other characters are wonderful as well and seeing them interacting with each other was always incredibly entertaining. Lots of QUALITY too but I don't care. Watched the first season while it aired, read all the light novels translations I could find afterwards and was so happy when the new seasons got announced. It wasn't perfect and it took six years of waiting but I'm glad that we got what we got. It was a shit ton of fun and I'll miss it dearly.

Well there's still an OVA coming. But yeah I wish Narita ended it here so I don't have to be sad about the lack of an SH adaptation because it's just not going to happen. Still to get 3 cours after 5 years was a great wish. Takahiro Omori is so based to bring back this and Natsume. I only wish Baccano was a bit more popular and he could bring that back too. Fantastic show. 10/10.

They were probably the best thing in the series, with all the character introductions and a quick flashback of relevant episodes in the middle of them, and then the ED showing everyone connected to each other. The way each episode had a different narrator was amazing, too. Damn I love this series.

Everyone loved him back when he was revealed as the leader of the dollars 5 years ago. That's when people started calling him moot.
Then he got a bit boring for a while, until the end of Shou when he stabbed Aoba in the hand. From that point onward people started liking him again more and more. Everyone loved him last week. I'd say he was pretty cool in this last episode as well.

If Narita can start writing for Shuka's anime then eventually I could see him and Omori getting a deal for an SH anime. If Gatoh could FMP a new season I don't see why Narita can't do the same for DRRR. He just needs some experience writing for an anime.
I will miss this show, really liked some characters
I liked the ending, gave closure to all the characters that mattered, I guess.
But fuck do I hate the dumb misuse of terms with twisted logic they keep pulling off. I hated since S1, I hate it now. It's my main gripe with DRRR. "I love them so I want to harm them", "I'm a villain because I'm going to do something heroic for my benefit". Every time they say something like this I cringe. And it's sad that some characters' entire motivations revolve around that. Serioulsy, makes Izaya look like a total retard instead of a slimeball.
Also, in the end, what was Izaya really responsible for besides putting dumb ideas in Mikado's head? He's supposed to be manipulative, but I can't really remember what influence he had in the end.

8/10. Very accurate to the novels. The actual prose of the novels is so shit that it could've been written by a 13yo, but the urban, ordinary tone, convoluted plot, great character dynamics and strong themes more than make up for that. Similarly, the animation in the anime is for the most part QUALITY ridden trash, but it carries all the strong points of the novels across really well.
