Ruppa will likely be defeated next week and either leave willingly or be sealed. Haru-Mom will likely stick around because she's complete filler.

Haru has never met his mother in the light novels because she never came back, Haru's dad gets a speaking role when Koito moves in but they don't seem to wanna do that either. So, Kyoani basically took what they liked in the novels, added their own spin and that makes a product that's basically an alternate universe instead of an adaption. The same goes for Kyoukai no Kanata, they changed so much it can't be called an adaption of the light novels either.

Yes. It's weird how in the show Reina has healing abilities when she doesn't in the novel. I guess the finger suck scene had to have some sense to it besides lewdness like it was in the novel.

Reina is actually pretty boy hungry in the novels compared to her girl crush on Mai and I don't think she had the BUREMONO gag in the novels either.

That's how I usually see Kyoani's weaker shows (KnK, Chuu2 S2, PW). Their strong point is characters, for sure.
Even in Phantom World all the characters get some sort of notable development and range. Mai has the fighting twins episode and shota Haru episode, Reina has the family episode, Kurumi has the bear episode, Koito has her episode and is slowly becoming part of the gang. Even Kurumi had her own episode.
MC is still really weak though, hopefully the last episode has some more development with him and his mom.
However the amateur plot writing still shows. Setting is fine in my opinion.

Looking at the beginning of the episode, they are showing the definition of phantom. Phantoms are supposed to be created by human thoughts so they can be destroyed in the same way. I guess that's the aspull they are going to use to defeat this phantom. Or the other thing being that they can regain their powers by wishing hard enough because everything was on their minds and the virus was never real.
