The ending could have been so much better if theyhad the guts to let Satoru be erased. I honestly thought it was going to happen once I saw the opening.
1. Let Yashiro remain free but in keeping with the theme of Satoru always saying the right thing, have him be haunted by the words he said just before drowning.
Either have him be too paranoid to act out his fantasies after Satoru says he knows his future, or if that's too gloomy for some people have a moment of hesitation when he remembers these words and it ruins his plans.
2. Kaya ending up with Hiromi makes way more sense with Satoru dead. Kenya gets to remain a bro and not go after his dead friend's girl who is seeking comfort. If you really want to lay on the feels have her name her son after him.
3. Airi lives a normal QT life and Satoru's wish of not getting her involved is fulfilled. If that's too gloomy for some people have her repeat something Satoru said to her and not be sure where it came from. Gets rid of horrible coincidence at the end.
4. Best mom still lives her depressing kombini life and buys the record. Cries for a bit but is ultimately happy to have raised a son who was an awesome superhero. Erases deadbeat 29 year old disappointing son.
Satoru doesn't have Airi or Kayo anymore.
