There's no benefit in blocking the traffic at nyaa's end, because that doesn't stop the traffic from coming.
You can't squeeze a GB/s worth of traffic down a MB/s connection.
It doesn't matter what nyaa do on their side of their link, they can block it, print it out, respond with fake errors of increasing humerousity, whatever. There's still a fuck tonne of data that is bottlenecking their connection before it even gets to them.
The only way to block it is to block it at the service provider's level, but due to the no-questions nature of the hosting needed to run a tracker, the service provider isn't likely to stick their neck out to try blocking the ddos unless it's disrupting other, legit services also.
