On the contrary, with the proper execution it could have been entertaining. Imagine Juicy trying to do a group interview or attempt those little bonding/team exercise games. Not that butt wiggle which got old fast. That actually reminded me of the earlier episodes with its inability to let a joke go (Saw/Dekapanman, for one). Osomatsu has really improved lately and has been consistently hilarious but this skit didn't go down so well.
The fact that Juicy was Juicy and Ichi was Ichi whereas the others were roleplaying didn't mesh well either. It shouldn't have been an AU.

I don't want their faults downplayed, they're popular as is for a reason. If they pick an Otomate writer out of a hat it's going to be irredeemable garbage for sure. Even if the staff are fans (which they probably are) they still have certain genre conventions to adhere to. There's no point in lightly parodying the genre in-game if you're still going to go full on otome because that's not what any of us are here for.
