Serious question about figures on ebay. I have some figures that I want to sell, but I'm not sure if people will "believe me" that they are genuine and not counterfeit if I list them on ebay, given the large number of counterfeit figs sold there.
What are people's experiences buying and especially selling figures on ebay? Should I just list my figure like normal, or do I need to put a reserve on the auction so it doesn't get mistaken for counterfeit and sell for only $20? Would a Make An Offer style listing work better than an auction?

Given the quality of the average eBay seller, you could probably get away with taking a decent photo of the figure through the box and not being from China. If you want to make your figures seem more attractive to buyers, though, you'll need to put in the extra effort, especially since you're selling them pre-owned.
Also, I wouldn't bother with auctions for figures unless they're extremely rare. The pre-owned figure market is spread thin, and you're gambling on at least two people simultaneously coming across and deciding to bid on your listing within a short period of time. If you want a certain price for one, list it at that amount.

eBay in general will not side with you. They side with buyers. PayPal does the same.
Be honest with your handling time and add a few extra days to it. Make sure you state how many days the buyer has to pay. You can extend this if you want to be nice, but PayPal now offers most buyers a 14 day Pay After Delivery option so if they're extending it too long they're probably flakes/problem buyers.
Avoid ToykoCopX from MFC. He's a piece of shit who tries to put of paying likely because he can't afford it in the first place.
You can do a reserve for an expensive or sought after figure. For those, I'd at least have it at retail+shipping and/customs.
For other auctions, set it at what you'd feel okay with it going for.
Buy It Now is good and doing a Best Offer is fine. You can set a maximum you're willing to take of the price that will go through without your approval, but if you want to approve every offer you can.

Rei has subtle expressions, I noticed. Where they look nice in illustrations some of that shading and detail get lost in the transformation into figures. I think a lot of it has to do with them not refining details well enough to grasp that subtlety, so most the time she looks bored at best, but mostly out of it.

Partly because of licencing. The rights holders agree to allow gk makers to sell a certain number of items at a certain event for free. The makers have to apply to the rights holder before hand to get approval. If you've ever bought a real gk, they come with the same little holographic sticker from Kadokawa, or whoever the rights holder is, that scales come with.

I didn't even watch the show and knew what the figure was based on. He was obviously too busy posting chaika face reaction images to pay attention. Also, anime Chaika looks like shit, why would people want a figure in that style over the one they can already get?
