Kaneki knows there's underhanded shit going on at CCG, and his relationship with Urie is complete shit. If Aura was sufficiently impressed by Arima and Sasaki, why wouldn't he keep tabs on Urie and Matsuri for them if Sasaki let drop that he would be interested in hearing about section 2's activities?
Can't wait for next chapter though. From my perspective it seems like Ishida has been playing coy with Kaneki to keep our attention engaged over his break. Dropping enough detail to make it seem like Kaneki is the model investigator, the heartless black reaper who callously slaughters ghouls with abandon and no longer gives a fuck about Hinami.
There is -literally- no way Ishida is going to make Kaneki fight Takatsuki two chapters after their last battle. He's just whetting our apetite to keep things open enough that it looks like a serious possibility. When I bet the first chapter that focuses on Kaneki will show us how he's running a long game against CCG, that he's plotting a massive jail break with Takatsuki and Furuta.
