I miss pretty much the entire Standard cast. Even shibireru is better than shits like Sam.
Almost no new character has been better than the characters they replaced. Jack himself is like one of the few who hasn't overstayed his welcome, while also not being shit on screen.
Roger ranges from being acceptable, to being far more pathetic than Reiji when Reiji is being pathetic. But you tend to be lenient towards Roger since he is pretty much the one and only who makes things kind of happen in Synchro.
Even characters like Sergey fail to be as entertaining as other minor characters like Barett.
And the characters we have left barely even interact with eachother anymore since they are cut off from eachother.
I mean damn. I am still watching Arc-V, and I am admittedly still enjoying Arc-V. Especially now when things are finally sort of picking up the pace. But things took a very noticeable steep dive when they travelled to Synchro.

Shun's logic for carding people in general is about as retarded as Aporia's for using Machine Emperors, Bruno/Antinomy's for using Synchro Monsters considering the world he came from, or most of all Paradox for trying to get rid of Duel Monsters using playing Duel Monsters (and he could have just killed Pegasus when he was a baby if he had common sense).
To me, it makes Shun a bit hypocritical to hate Academia for carding innocent people, yet he uses THEIR technology to card other innocent people, and if he took their carding technology, odds are he came to Standard the same way Sora went to Synchro Dimension. You'd think someone like Shun would feel at least a little bit horrible for using Academia's methods considering his view on them.

If anything, Barrett is more likely to be revenge crazy against Reiji. Considering that Barrett is LITERALLY the entire reason that Academia lost Serena in the first place. If he just refused to take her to Standard, Academia would have had three Ruris still. FUCK. I decided to see what they would do to Berserk Yuya, but holy shit, that was terrible. Not everything about it was bad, I was fine with a lot of the voices after some time (Yuzu sounds great, for example... I just wish they didn't fuck with her name). It's just... you can really tell they wanted to water everything down... of course, they completely fucked up the Berserk scenes which were painful to watch knowing that the original scenes made me nearly shit my pants. Yuto is the WAN PATAAN duelist who only has Break Sword and DRXD. If he had anything better, he would have used it, and odds are DRXD was the most powerful Xyz he had based on Yuya and Yugo's deck structure. At the very least, Yuto had no actual means of summoning any Xyzs other than Break Sword/Dark Rebellion and even if he did, they wouldn't have been as useful as Dark Rebellion.
Shun however, is a more skilled duelist than Yuto based on the fact he isn't a WAN PATAAN duelist and the fact that Shun beat better duelists (Episode 7 Sawatari was a shit duelist, and Sora's skill as a duelist is so inconsistent that he's shit by default). Shun doesn't need Rise Falcon like Yuto needs Dark Rebellion. Even Yugo would have crushed Serena without Clear Wing if Jean didn't interfere. Yuto's "strategy" is Dark Rebellion OTKs the opponent or else he loses (e.g. vs Yugo), whereas if Shun is put into a corner, he just summons a better Xyz monster than the one before rather than over-relying on one card.
Yes, Shun has more opportunities but its no excuse. Yuto's first 3 on-screen duels had him use just 2 Xyzs, one of which is shit and only exists to make Yuto's Level 3s into Level 4s to make the other Xyz. Shun's first 3 on-screen duels had him use Rise Falcon, Blaze Falcon, Revolution Falcon and Force Strix. Yugo used more Synchros in his first 3 on-screen duels than Yuto did with Xyzs. I don't think it was only human primal urges. Dragons and Darkness was definitely there. Heck there was that one scene with the Eye in Yuya's head destroying a city.
