First 2 were considered ok and then 3.0 comes along and just goes off the fucking rails at mach speed.

the first one is just the same as the first half of the series, except with better animation
the second one is the second part of the series except mixed with gurren lagann
the third one is the kaworu episode extended into a full movie with every character shitting on shinji and shinji acting like a complete retard, plus pointless twist and timeskips
