I'm doing a rather large college work about the influence of traditional japanese aestethics in contemporany manga and anime, and I've almost finished it except for one bit of information. In the 2013 Kyoto International Anime and Manga Fair there were several illustrations of Madoka and her friends wearing kimonos and posing like traditional "Beauty of Kanbun" portraits, but I can't find the authors name anywhere, and since I can't read more than basic japanese I'm having lots of trouble researching on the event's website. Those illustrations were the basis for the Aniplex Maiko line of figures, if that helps. If someone could help me out I'd be very thankful.

Lol wonder how that would fit in. But I've already covered Sailor Moon, Kaguyahime No Monogatari, Okami and a bit of Ao No Exorcist as well as ero guro stuff like Shintaro Kago so it's already quite otaku

If you're able to even consider that this project might possibly not be a horrible fucking idea that alienates you from every person in your life who might not drag you down to a pit of sub-mediocraty only to ultimately abandon you to solitarily wallow in the garbage you have reduced your life to then you don't know enough about Japan or anime to do a decent job.

I'll dig around, but Illustrators doesn't usually get direct credits on stuff like this. It's easiest to just credit STUDIO SHAFT.

Found it, this series was by NAKAMURA Naoto 中村直人.
