King Crimson is extremely inconsistent throughout part 5 and no one single explanation can actually explain what it does. Sometimes KC can attack people, sometimes it looks like he can't. Sometimes he's fucking intangible and bullets go through him, sometimes he has to physically maneuver around attacks. When he fights Buccellati he does that "you're looking at yourself" thing but we have no idea how he did that. Some say he gave Bruno Epitaph temporarily, but we don't know if he can actually do that. King Crimson makes no fucking sense because Araki kept changing his mind.

I think it might be because Diavolo is a pretty angry person, he never really hides how extremely emotional he is, though he does try to keep his cool, I think King Crimson is just Diavolo's extreme emotions personified into a face.
That kind of ties into my personal opinion that King Crimson was the villain, not Diavolo, since whenever Diavolo was around, King Crimson was almost always present, and more often than not, in front of Diavolo, or even replacing him in panels. So King Crimson felt like he had more of a presence than Diavolo did.

The "looking at yourself" thing was just Buccellati being caught within King Crimson's time skip, he was seeing himself skipped ahead five seconds in an instant, because Araki really likes stylish shit. As for intangible vs maneuvering around attacks, in the end it comes down to the same thing, within King Crimson's world, nothing can touch Diavolo, since he is no longer bound by time. As for King Crimson attacking, he can attack, but from what I remember, he can't do anything while skipping time, so he just uses the time skip to maneuver around and then attack while his target is disoriented

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven was the most disappointing thing since my son. I mean how much more can you possibly fuck up the entire story of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. And while my son eventually hanged himself in the bathroom of a gas station, the unfortunate reality of Eyes of Heaven is that it'll be around...forever...it will never go away...it can never be undone. If you're someone who's under the age of like 20 who says his least favorite part in the series is Vento Aureo because it was "The most boringest one" then I suggest you unlike this page right now before I carefully explain how much of a fucking idiot you are.
So where do I possibly start? Nothing in Eyes of Heaven makes any sense at all, it comes off like a script written by an 8-year-old. It's like Hirohiko Araki finished the script in one draft, turned it in and they decided to go with it without anyone saying that it made no sense at all or was a stupid incoherent mess. I guess at this point who's gonna question Araki or tell him what to do? He controls every aspect of the game. He probably got rid of those people that questioned him creatively a long time ago. I also think that everyone just assumed that a JoJo game would be an instant hit regardless of what the plot was. Really! How hard could it be to screw up?
