No one is saying 02 didn't happen. They just aren't following 02 100%. The fact that these movies even exist at all is a testament to that as we already knew what happened after 02 due to audio dramas where tons of people had Digimon.
If Yamato and Sora were dating Sora wouldn't be so frazzled over picking between them. If they were dating Mimi wouldn't have brought up Sora having to choose between them. The movies are pretending they weren't together in 02 because they might as well not have been with how little they interacted and how small and out of left field their relationship was.
The movies are also pushing Koushiro with Mimi and Takeru with Hikari. Things that contradict the 02 epilogue. I don't even know why anyone would want the epilogue to stay canon anyway. Ignoring all the shipping everything after the Kaiser arc in 02 was a storytelling disaster that should be ignored.

I would also like to point out that there's a reason why Taichi and Hikari were used as the sample data from which the qualification process for other Chosen Children were derived, and why those eight in particular were used to create the eight Crests. The Digivices were also created specifically to support those eight children.
If sample data of previous Chosen Children capable of producing identical results existed, then there would be no need for that.
Also, even if the original Chosen COULD catalyze evolution for their respective partners, they probably could not evolve past Adult in the first place. Certainly not to Ultimate, as the very concept of the Ultimate level was only recently discovered in Adventure's Digital World.

I doubt they could evolve to Perfect. Up until the final battle against Apocalymon, none of the Chosen could evolve their Digimon past Adult without their Crests. The Crests focus a Chosen's greatest quality and allows for easier evolution. It's possible, but time consuming and would take far longer than what the Adventure kids had to go through. Because in addition to walking around all over the goddamn place trying to figure out what to do, you're also beating the shit out of other Digimon fucking constantly, hoping to get your Digimon to evolve to Child, Adult, Perfect.
I mean, consider the following: Agumon has been Agumon for six fucking years. It's been fighting fairly regularly but its natural state is still as an Agumon. Imagine how long it would take to try to evolve a Baby Digimon all the way to motherfucking Perfect the long way around under Digimon Adventure's rules.

The baby forms seem to be somewhat intelligent enough to talk and communicate but as soon it went to child it seem to have lost it and just started to blow up shit at random. When the kids go back to Hikarigaoka, Koromon outright states "It must have been a different Koromon," but then immediately after says "But when I met Taichi for the first time, I felt like I'd always known him."
Of course, the second line could be attributed to anime!Koromon being tied specifically to Taichi, and not that he has memories from the incident four years before.

I kind of like both. Ophanimon is the one that feels more like a divine being and has stupid amounts of symbolism, but Holydramon looks more like a combat-ready being. I'd favor slide evolution between both depending on what current needs are with Ophanimon having more defensive and healing techniques while Holydramon was more offense and speed but that seems unlikely.

Venusmon is an extremely powerful Digimon whose power is literally the ability to sap away the opponent's will to fight. That's an automatic victory by default. Depending on the extent of her power, it may very well be one of the most powerful Digimon in existence. Power isn't just about overpowering the other party.
And Beelstarrmon is probably equal to Beelzebumon. On average, individual members of the Seven Great Demon Lords are equal to individual members of the Royal Knights.
In terms of sheer data size alone, both of them should be far above the average Digimon.
Fact is, just being a God Man or a Demon Lord alone makes them both extremely high tier, much like Holy Knights.

I think you may have a point too, although I think the power level of some of these mons are either unclear or very debatable. A lot of these partner charts are original lines or head-canons anyways and there's been a huge ass discussion lately about canon lines or the possibility of evolving anything from everything. One would assume voice samples in a Tri branded Digivice are from Tri. The other voice samples are lines from the movie, after all.

I hated it as a kid. I hated that you had to Jogress your Digimon or they would stop leveling. But as I got older I appreciated it a whole lot more. The game is pretty short though and lacking in Digimon. An expanded version that had double the length with dozens of new extra dungeons and several hundred Digimon would be my favorite Digimon game.

I was referring more to consistency in the evolution lines used throughout the series shows, movies and products (regardless of "correct" or not). Just recently the Digivice line of products seem to be giving a thumbs up to the 02 movies. This and the fact 02 seems to still be decently respected by the production of Tri seems to indicate they are looking out for some form of integrity in the continuity (which digimon probably needs as a multi-product and multi-universe franchise desu).

I can get were he's coming from. The roman god representing the light half of the digimon, and the Outlaw who at the end of the day is just a female version of a demon digimon making a dark half of the digimon. Considering mastemon's design is really about combining light and darkness more than the actually symbolism behind it, I'd say he's approach works. However, his Mastemon would have to be on steroids compared to the one we know. Alternatively, his Venusmon and Beel Starrmon play frontier style and are horribly weak compared to what they should be.
