Thank you for the gifts. I really liked the tea set. I don't usually drink tea, but I suppose I could always start. I'll try the tea you included. I enjoyed the candy in the bag and the chocolate coconut flake thing in the paper bag. Also good call on the toblerone, those things are delicious. The manga cookbook is silly, but it's funny learning about how to make anime bentos. Not sure about the read-along, but your feelings were the same as mine. As for the rest of the CD, I liked the hand picked food related anime episodes. It may not be a whole lot of money spent, but it's a lot of time and thought spent which is really more memorable.
I like the cards, the music CD is comfy, and the joke was fun. Also got me into the anime from the CD. Cooking can be so sensual.

Be advised if that's what I think it is it's a brand of salty liquorice popular in the Nordic countries (ie Finland). It's extremely strong tasting so you may have a bad time of it if you're not prepared. I'm guessing the filling is probably flavoured with that stuff.

Apparently "having garbage taste" and "being unable to fill out a form correctly" are not acceptable grounds for removal from the event either.
Anyway, if anyone has suggestions for how to improve the event feel free to let me know.
You know, it probably wouldn't work in practice, but if Santa kept track of people year by year it might lower grinching rates by pairing people up with those who have been doing it (and have confirmed delivery) for the same amount of years. Like if somebody who did it and delivered two years in a row they'd be put with somebody who also delivered two years in a row.
First years would probably be fucked at worst and taking a gamble at best though.

You probably don't remember but as long as we've had these threads we've had people trying to ruin them for everyone. I can't remember if it was last year or the year before but and IRC trolling channel set up a series of false dilemmas where they made it look like the santas were deliberately funneling all gifts to themselves with a made up "target list" of blacked out email addresses as proof of this claim. Then they set up a rival /ss/ to try and divide up participants and ruin it. Fortunately it got sorted out and they slinked away like the cowards they are.
