He knows that Josuke might be onto something, but there are still family secrets that need to be hidden. There is a LOT of mystery surrounding the Higashikata household, and Josuke unaware of most of it. He is snoopin around, looking for stuff, looking into his own past.
He appriciates Josuke's attempt at finding a cure, but he still needs to make sure that he is a "part" of the family. That's why he lets all of his kids mess around with him, and often doesn't try to stop it.

I will say that of the protagonists, I really like how Jolyne utelises her stand. While Josuke's stand also had some really cool utility I feel like Jolyne's stand is so niche and limited, it really keeps you guessing how she's gonna use it to get out of her current situation.

The art quality was overall much better, I don't know what you are talking about. Note that I said overall, there were some shitty Part 3 episodes, notably DIO's World 3.

I enjoyed Stardust Crusaders, but it was only after watching the show that I realized what I had missed out on. Not to sound like a faggot, but I prefer the "Phantom Blood" & "Battle Tendency" anime adaptations over the manga. When Stardust was finally complete, I read through all of it (Part 1 to Part 8) and I was disappointed. Disappointed that David didn't deliver a faithful recreation of "DIO's World". Disappointed that it fucked up one of my fav villains biggest moments. I was happy to see the Time Stop scenes animated and the ROADO ROLLAR DAAA scene animated, but other than that the fight was a HUGE let down for me. Still unsure about the artstyle. As mentioned it's so lacking in details in shading, it doesn't really fit any of the artstyles used in the part. I do like that it's getting more colorful though, even with the scenery. Even the more dull colored OVA managed to have a more interesting palette for Jotaro than DP's default had.
