In 02 you have the arc at the beginning with Koushiro and Mimi first being paired off and ending up exploring a temple or whatever you wanna call it. Cause Koushiro has a habit of babling on when talking about a topic as well as getting super focused on decoding the text on the wall Mimi ends up getting jealous and complains he should pay attention to her and then storms off.

In revenge of diaboromon you have Koushiro and Mimi being stuck back in school as well as Hikari and Takeru towards the end.
Also this is assuming a bit but it seems like Koushiro is the one that mostly keeps in contact with Mimi in the states. Which isn't surprising if you think about it.
He helps out with a friends company and has an office so chances are he is up at times when Mimi is awake.

Taichi has always had this trait about worrying about things that could hurt others and potentially be his fault, mainly about Hikari, and now that he's older, it's become clear that he thinks about it in a much more widespread case.

No Digimon series is ever just this. It had to have character drama, and adorable monsters and monsters you can love and monsters with their own problems. Expecting it to be 'just battles' is as foolish a hope as expecting Movie 6 to adequately conclude the romantic arcs.

A bridge was broken and a phone was split apart with some injuries in the battle between two Adults. Taichi's probably already extrapolating that a battle between the strongest Digimon he knew (Omegamon) and someone who can match it is not going to end that well.

Another thing people miss is that the cellphone-chan Taichi keeps flashing back to is the same one Hikari has. In fact the first time he flashes back to cellphone-chan is when he's calling Hikari and tells her not to come over.

He's always been like this though. In Adventure he kept boldly pushing ahead, damn the consequences, until Koushirou told him that yes, if you die in the dream you DO die in reality. Once he realizes the gravity of a conflict it hits him like a truck. It just happened quicker this time because he's not as brash anymore.
