And by that I mean Jonathan and young Joseph, not that boring old man from part 3, not the edgy nips, no twinks and definitely not a damn woman!
The first two parts were a masterpiece but I thought part 3 was meh and never even finished part 4,
I loved how it was about muscular men using ripples to fight other muscular men, then those faggy stands took over and it just wasn't the same.

Meanwhile, the reason you think the ripple is cool and different is because supernatural martial arts as a theme haven't been popular for a long time.
Back when 1 and 2 first came out, there was a glut of them and it was getting old, no one could tell one from another, it was as bad as reincarnation LNs today. You haven't been exposed to those though, so it seems new and interesting to you.

The stands may have been great but S3's attitude to villains was not. The villain of the episode route was terrible and barely gave anyone outside Jotaro's group any character. Even DIO only lasted like 4 episodes before it was over and he was the main villain.
At least with Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency (more so PB) there were main villains from the start and stayed until the end of the season.

Part 2 did really cool things with the Ripple but it was still generally stuck to beings that had light as a weakness. Stands allowed for a lot more possibilities in characters and abilities. That wasn't well done in Part 3 which is probably why everyone new has that initial aversion.

Most of these contribute some kind of significant advancing to the story. Although this is really just because they were so much shorter. Part 4 did it nicely by having a lot of characters return, even if for only a few moments.

Araki introduced an entirely new concept with vague rules. Having a new character every week (and the early ones joining the hero band after being defeated) allowed him to rapidly iterate on the concept of Stands, sure, at the expense of overall characterization but this is remedied in later parts.

Agree completely with this. I hated how it went from part one and two's idea of "there's these incredibly powerful enemies and we'll struggle at every step to beat them" to part three's "oh look, another harmless stand user. Okay, done. Look, nother harmless stand user".
In parts 1 and 2, the enemies were menacing, so there was a thrill in knowing who'd win. In part 3

If an official product was commercially released that assigns voice actors to characters, then from that point on, those voice actors ARE those characters.
Do you not understand? It's a very simple concept. Changing voice actors DOES NOT HAPPEN in japan. No, it doesn't happen all the time. What happened with Part 3 and this is baffling considering what normally happens.
This is only normal outside of Japan, where no one gives a flying fuck about voice actors. Personally, the whole system is stupid and this way of doing things is much better - if you need a better voice actor or one whose schedule works out better, then go ahead and make a replacement.

Taste is subjective, but I personally enjoy Jonathan due to the fact that he isn't another dashing rouge like Joestar and is fairly different compared to the others. His character development is some of the best in the manga, and I respect him more than any other JoJo. I'ts not like he's entirely flawless either, he's deeply flawed in the fact that he's gullable and easily taken advantage of, there's a certian level of naiveness to him that keeps him from being a gary stu perfect mc even after he's fully matured. I don't think there is an objectively worst JoJo from any standpoint.
