Just took a second look through the chapter. It's actually... not horrible, though it's not great either. They crammed a bunch of info in there, and they didn't use the typical manga transitions between scenes so it looks jumpy and erratic. The art looked good, though flow from panel to panel was difficult to figure at times. Seems like it was a standard introductory chapter to intro the MC's, and the world itself. For a first chapter, it could've been a lot worse IMO.

The company who produced the work you're babbling on about in this thread is Japanese Drawn and thus considered MANGA. The rights and source material doesn't matter at that stage in the game. For something to be on /a/ it must be artwork made in Japan. This manga is created by a prominent Japanese company so you cannot deny it its rights as a Manga. That is the legal rights that separate manga and comic. The Location in which the work is produced. In Rwby's case it is BOTH as of right now, thus its content is allowed on /a/.

-as far as the red teeth goes, they're just emphasizing the color; the Grimm get scary and bloody, and so can Ruby when she fights
-as far as the designs overall, I'd imagine there's room for more types of Grimm than what were on the show; they could actually come up with cooler designs, so there's potential here
