Rocks whole background is just to set the thesis as "Are corrupt people born corrupt and then shackled by the society in which they live, or is their corruption reliant on their surroundings"

Read the lite novels or the "extra" canon stuff that was released after the end. They dive deeper into the past of the Black Lagoon characters, especially Revy. It actually explains why she's so fucked up. I'm not telling but what the Anon you're replying to said is on the money. There's literally a lite novel by the Auther where Revy decides to do one last "show" for one of her targets who just happens to be some gross fatass.
There's also the fact that the Auther is also a porn artist on the side and has done some collaboration porn works with Revy. Weird thing is, he only ever does "canon friendly" porn of her.
