This is an anthology of short horror comics by indie authors. I've only read a few of them, so I'll just post them in order and read along with you.
Shit thread shit o p
Here's the first one, it's called Child Eater.
Looks like some Adventure-time tier stuff but I'm interested.
>>17546741
Oh yeah, I think most of these stories are kind of open to interpretation.
>>17546689
I'm lurking, OP.
Seems like a metaphor for child abuse so far
>>17546782
A few more pages left of this story.
>>17546770
Yeah, I'm not sure about the ending though.
>>17546815
End of Child Eater.

>>17546857

>>17546822
So malevolent being takes advantage of dysfunctional family to get a girl to offer it a sacrifice in turn to kill her father?
1/9
The next one is Found Object, by britt c. h.
>>17546932
7/9
>>17546895
Yeah, that makes sense. I guess she didn't realize it was a sacrifice, or she wouldn't have taken the baby.
>>17546942
9/9
Anyone got any insight on this one? Or is it literally about an object that makes people around it sick and then comes to life?
1/12
The Grackle Bride, by Randal Milholland
>>17546951
It was probably stealing his "life force" or blood, so he might have just had an infection. After it has enough, it comes to life!
>>17546969
4/12
>>17546963
Makes sense!
>>17546963
Gonna have to go with "grows with the life for ce it steals"
Maybe also a subliminal message about how some people develop relations to obvious harmful things but ignore the effects until it's to late.
>>17546997
7/12
>>17546985
I was actually wondering if it was a metaphor for addiction maybe, because at the he invites his friend to join him.
>>17547010
9/12
Ha, this one's cute. It's got a Tim Burton feel.
>>17547036
Oh. Ok.
>>17547042
1/11
This one is Proliferation, by Lin Visel and J.R. Cullen.
>>17547057
3/11
>>17547042
Yeah the end kind of fell flat. I guess it's a happy ending though in that he gets a grackle waifu.
>>17547089
8/11
Okay so there are 26 stories in this book, this is the 5th. I'm definitely not posting them all tonight.
>>17547092
9/11
But how are you guys feeling? How many more stories you think you got in you?
>>17547097
As many as you're willing to share
Loving the abstract theme
>>17547109
Okay thanks, I'll post maybe 2 more, then continue tomorrow night if I can.
>>17547106
So yeah, not sure about this one. Maybe it's just about a casual hike that turned into getting lost deep in the woods? Not sure about the "someone is waiting for me" comment, or like the dead deer and the guy lying there at the end.
1/6
I Want to Wake Up, by Greg Stolze and Langdon Foss

>>17547311
You're welcome! I'll post some more tomorrow night, or if I can't then the night after.
>>17546689
Thanks! Wish there was more like this on /co/. Is that a Michael Deforge cover or just someone imitating his style (pretty damn well)?
>>17547370
Michael Deforge is listed among the contributors. His name isn't in the table of contents, though, so he must have only contributed the cover.
>>17546689
thanks anon! :3
>>17547392
Cheers! Looks like someone drowning one of his "spotted deers" (basically slugs that look like deer) in that image. deforge is making some of the most innovative, challenging comix in the medium today, the guy is a younger Chris Ware, he's put out 4 books (I mean BOOKS, like graphic novels, hardbacks of original material AS WELL as loads of self-published stuff) in the past 9 months! And he's, I think, 27?, dude is a comix-making machine. Does a few spoopy comics stories, too. /co/ here btw. If it wasn't obvious....
>>17547370
>>17547393
np!
>>17547434
Thanks for the info, I might check him out. Damn, 27? What am I doing with my life.
>>17547481
I know, right? He's published by Drawn& Quarterly, Koyama Press, Space Face Books, Oily Comics, Secret Prison...the list goes on. As well as his stand-alone graphic novels he also has a regular comic series called Lose which is up to issue 7. Very Casual collects issues 2-6, that's koyama, Ant Colony (D&Q) is really good and very funny. I'd say he's put out at least a dozen works in the past year or so. Like I said, A MACHINE.
>>17547502
Sorry, Very Casual is a different book of short stories, forgotten what the Lose collection is called, google and ye shall find (individual issues before like 5 are starting to go for silly money. you can check out his (and more interesting comics) on the what things do website. Lots of deforge to read on there. Oh, he's even done the odd story for Marvel!
