Translate this argument into symbolic form.(like (p>~q) )
If the movie is made in England, then it is worth seeing. The movie is expensive or it is not worth seeing. But the movie is not expensive. Therefore, it is not made in England.

Let E be the proposition "the movie was made in England", S the proposition "the movie is worth seeing" and X the proposition "the movie is expensive"
We are given
(1) E -> S
(2) X OR ~S
Transposition of (1) gives us
(3) ~S -> ~E
Then from the premise
(4) ~X
Disjunction and (2) give
(5) ~S
And inference from (3) gives
(6) ~E

How can I prove it by using Truth Table
Sorry I missed my classes
>>85795
For a truth function T of the vector (E,S,X) we have
T(1,0,0) = 0
T(1,0,1) = 0
Because E->S
And
T(0,1,0)=0
T(1,1,0)=0
Because X or ~S
Everything else check out, that is:
T(1,1,1)=1
T(0,1,1)=1
T(0,0,1)=1
T(0,0,0)=1
Only the last case interest us, as it is the only true statement satisfying our premise X=0. We conclude that E=0
