It's the idea that we're trying to imagine this anime shit in real life which is kinda sad and it feels like some of these shops are presented in such a way where the artist was in love with the fictional character and is framing them like this to make it look like said imaginary character with no will of its own cares about and recognizes the artist.

OP, I went through a RU-facebook esque website saving stuff but haven't bothered to continue. I only did it for a day. I got around 350~ images. I'll post my bookmarks but I could maybe upload my folder if you want. I doubt I'll continue collecting them.
