What do people think about the second season of Minami-ke? I really liked the first season but I had to force myself to get about three or four episodes into the second season and dropped it after that. The second season just doesn't seem as good as the first season.

Funny, I have the exact opposite tastes of a frogposter, what a surprise.
It seems that you don't really like the SOL aspects of those series, so I would recommend that you search more for comedy or drama titles than slice of life.
Daily Lives of High School Boys is great.

The second and third season, yes. The second season is especially is basically never talked about because it is really, really awful. The third season goes back to the original formula somewhat but still doesn't hold up to the first by the original studio.
