Hi Anon,

I use a PC with very little default video software. I need some help...

I need to splice together clips from various .avi and .mkv files for a party. Is there a free program I should use for this? Do the file types need to be converted first?

The compilation is going to be up to 7 hours long. Is this also easy to do with gifs?

Sony vegas or adobe premiere. There are many video on the usage of the programs, although I think you can figure it out yourself.

Use the site online converter, and a certain bay if you are low on dough.
