How does sigma work in this equation? i and j represent population groups and micro-environments that cant be designated by numbers in a mathematically sensible way so what do I put in that section?
Also what if the study contains 4 micro-environments and I only want the result for 1 would I still put 4 in the M section?

I need speech to text for this. I'm forced lefty for a few weeks so I cant type it all out. Boils down to this: The variables behind the sum are probably different per group/env. Solve the equation for each group/env. and sum those outcomes then divide the total by E.
