A boy falls in love with a girl.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.

Okay, Keit-Ai is a copypasta that's been going around /a/ for years.
It's a pitch for the "write an anime plot" thread, and it's actually quite a good one*. Its pastaing has reached critical mass recently, though, and everyone's fed up of it.
Makoto Shinkai makes pretty animes with clouds and emotional gang-rape. When he's not doing that, he makes TV commercials, because why the hell not.
He made a commercial with a cellphone in it, someone slapped the title onto it, and >implied that he was making Keit-Ai, when really he wasn't.
Keit-Ai is a pun that works in Weeb but doesn't work in Japanese. A keitai (携帯) is a cellphone, and ai (愛) is romantic love. The pun doesn't work in Japanese, though, because in Japanese 携帯 is spelled ke-i-ta-i, and in Japanese you can't split "ta" in half anymore than in English you could split "m" or "w".
Oh, and it "finds a way" because Shinkai produces stuff that's like KyoAni, but better, and for ages KyoAni has "found a way".
Usually a way to produce shit that no-one wants like Endless Eight and Pachinko machines, instead of a sequel to FMP.
