My microphone is the same as pic related, I used it once on another computer but I can't get it to work on my new one.
It's a Gateway desktop running windows 10, theirs a pink port in it with a microphone logo above it, I plugged it in but nothing is happening and my microphone won't work.

You need to assign it as your default microphone. In Windows 7 this would be control panel > sound > recording tab > click external mic > click "set as default", but I wouldn't touch Windows 10 with a plastic one; may be the same process but is likely different. Googling "set default recording source windows 10" will no doubt shed some light on it if the above doesn't work.
