I would like to know how does one explain the concept of colors to a kid born blind?

This question has been in my head for 2 weeks and I can't find a good reply by myself.

The *concept* of color can be explained (wavelengths, absorption, retransmission yada yada yada), but the *sensation* of color cannot. Or can it?

Read up on "qualia" if you want to know what the philosophers think about it. Color perception is a very frequently used example of what a true subjective, non-transmissible experience is (if there are such experiences, which is still being debated).
