/r/'s been around forever. doesn't stop people from asking sauce or making requests on other nsfw boards. people are still going to ask for recs on their home boards which are better places anyway. this board will have a few users, but if you want music recs or book recs or something you think people on here would be able to help you better than /mu/ or /lit/?
/a/ will probably be the only one to strictly enforce the go to /wsr/ rule because their mods actually care. the main topic boards will still be flooded with rec threads and people will go there over this one because they're actual experts in the field of interest. this board will be one of the deadest on the site, guaranteed

No, I check in there often. Questions from e.g. /a/ do pop up and do get good responses. It's just that 1) people got discouraged by all the porn and 2) people were using that as an excuse to not use it. With this board around there is even less excuse to make a /r/ thread on blue-boards.
I don't really get this board like, are people going to come on here on purpose to answer questions like what video game should I play and what anime should I watch? I feel like I'd rather get the opinion of a whole board dedicated to the subject rather then just the few people who decide to browse this board to answer questions. I mean I guess I kinda see the point of it but I'd say on /v/ at least a lot of discussion comes up in those in comparison to the usual bull shit
