Actually, to add to that, I'm kind of worried this is going to end up making the board even worse. The point of rec threads being banned wasn't just that they clog up the board, it was also to weed out people who had only seen a very small handful of anime and brought their naive misconceptions to discussions. We don't want the kinds of people who make rec threads to be on /a/ at all. Now we're just enabling them by giving them a place to fester before they come back to spread their idiocy.
Though maybe /a/'s bad enough already that it doesn't matter that much.

Maison ikkoku, an infuriating love story about indecisive people who can not make up their minds. It is funny though and the ending is great. If you have enjoyed rumikos other works (ranma 1/2, urusei yatsura) you should enjoy it, I think it's rumikos best work.

Either way is fine, the manga does have a bit more to it since the anime skips a few minor things. I like the anime designs better and the manga has the most infuriating part in the story that the anime cut out, as I said either way is fine.

Nodame Cantabile is moar like slice of life, but has some great romantic vibes.
White Album 2 is nice, but the ending will leave you devastated if you won't dig VN after that.

It (the anime) starts as a mahou shoujo with some romance, but it turns into a romance with some mahou shoujo around halfway through. And it's really enjoyable.
