I'm looking for a small digital clock that can be attached to the corner of a monitor.
I'd like to see the time at night too, without having to press a backlight button. Does such a thing exist?

Yes, and yes.
The clock itself is cheap enough, and can be had as a kit.
The problem is the "nixie" tubes, which aren't being made anymore, and will run you $6-10 each.
And they burn out.
