I have 2x2 GB CL4 memory, and I want to get another pair of 2x1 GB or 2x2 GB, same speed (maximum for my motherboard) but I can't find any CL4 ones, just CL6. Would these new sticks make the old ones work at CL6 also? How to compensate?
Just get any, Nobody worries about CAS latency
I worry because I can math. All the sticks will work at 800 MHz so the difference between CL6 and CL4 will be significant... I just wanted to know if all the sticks would default to 6 or what.

>math
yeah, and clock speed actually means something too

>Yeah, I bet you can math.
CAS latency is expressed in terms of cycles-at-whatever-speed-it's-rated-to. So if you're buying CL6 1333, that *is* CL4 when you run it at 800.

Also 2005 called and it wants your computer back.

This is exactly what I was asking about, and I already realized it and got ordered such sticks. But I guess thanks, you cynical fuck :)

Buy an entire new rig when I need a tiny bit more RAM? Great idea; pic related.
