So my PC was working fine and suddenly froze all of a sudden during normal browsing, so I restarted it and it didn't post, but the components lit up and the fans spun. My monitors don't detect it, and my kb/m don't light up anymore. I've tried a CMOS reset already.
Specs:
i7-4790k
MSI GTX 960 4G
16 GB RAM
Asus Z-97A Mobo

check all the cords inside the machine to see if everythings connected propetly. it could be thst the cpu overheated.uplug the power wait 10minutes

Didn't work. Everything is connected fine, and tried the unplug trick. There's no way the CPU overheated, I was just browsing Bulbapedia with only a few chrome tabs open. Even though I'm using a stock cooler, I'm not overclocking (yet).
>>
Is this a new build? How long did it work "fine"? What power supply do you have?
>>
Clean your RAM. And try posting it without the graphics card.. See if it posts.

Tried all those, still doesn't work. PSU is a Corsair CX 600W, and it's really fucking loud.
>>
That power supply shouldn't be loud. You might have a rare bad one. It's only powering a few components.
>>
>>114347
That's probably it desu. It always makes a loud whirring sound and it's the loudest fan in my system. Even my Intel Stock Cooler is quieter (I can't hear it at all, even under load). I was considering getting a new PSU anyway because of the annoying noise, but this basically seals the deal. Thanks.
>>
Buying a new PSU now after further research, going with a EVGA's 600B this time since it is cheaper and has better Amazon reviews. Will report once it comes in a few days.

Do you have a speaker plugged in to the motherboard? If so is it giving out any beeps? Should give a hint at what the problem is.
>>

Nope, no beeps.

I am still not 100% it is your PSU as it should be outputting something even with a bad PSU especially if you took out your GPU and it didn't sound and fans are spinning.
You sure the speaker is plugged in to the right pins on the board?

Suggest a mechanism by which any device can work when its *power supply* does not work.

It's a universal constant across every electrical device that if it is not supplied with power, then it does not work.

Remember, the fans and lights on every part light up normally, but my kb/m don't light up and no other peripherals receive power. Keep in mind the sketchy PSU sound as well.
