I got a soundtrack in .flac format and I want to convert it to more common format.
I tried googling a bit, but I'm not sure if the pages I found were safe.

So, do you know any software which I can use to convert the files?

sure, it's command line only and that's a bit scary, but it does almost every format known to man. basically every free tool that deals with av codecs has ffmpeg under the hood anyway and is nothing more than a glorified GUI.
