I just started doing some stuff tonight, I really want a better sidebar but I'm finding it hard to keep the information I want without compromising it, also Enigma's base sidebar is the only one I think looks any good without too much work with the steam setup
My browser needs a lot of work, but right now I'm focused on setting up Chameleon [ https://github.com/socks-the-fox/chameleon ] to work with all of my rainmeter skins so I can just switch and forget for the most part while keeping some cohesion, as you can see I'm far from optimal results.

Not a fan of the bblean look so I'm not sure what I want to do from here, I am a large fan of transparency as you can probably see.
I'm sure there are some more things I can do to help this along but they slip my mind at the moment, if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
I added dexpot but it's not playing nice with displayfusion so I might have to scrap it. It's only 4% CPU compared to what it used to be though so it's much more lightweight than last time I used it.

Next is firefox, for some reason no matter the theme I pick the searchbar row doesn't get changed it seems. Neither skinned nor moved. I imagine it has to do with some of the more recent changes since the guide says 29 and up and I'm on like 43.

Nevermind. Something's messed up with the current patch of Win 10. Choosing a custom theme using the current version of UXThemePatcher 10 results in a black screen that flashes white once in awhile. Had to revert to the restore point I made just before doing it. I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't just implement a dark theme for their operating system like they do for Visual Studio or Office. They already have a dark theme for things like the settings menu, but it doesn't translate to the file browser or anything else for literally no reason.

First time using Rainmeter to customize my desktop and the other thread is dead.
I am trying to improve this current desktop of mine in terms of I want to possibly get a few more icons for things like Steam, maybe get a player that shows what is playing on Spotify.
I like as you can tell the minimalist themes that also work with space themed wallpapers.

he's using a window manager called i3wm. its a tiling wm that allows you to make tiled, floating, stacked, or tabbed window setups, almost entirely with changeable keybinds. It looks fairly intimidating at first but is extremely well documented. i3wm.org/docs should have everything you need. that said if you plan to switch to using only a WM from using a full DE/WM, you'll probably be initially confused about how to do some of the small things the DE used to handle for you. look up each problem as you go (probably on the arch wiki or your respective distro) and figure it out.
i recommend getting the i3 meta package (i3-wm most places? iirc), and then trying it out by entering it through lightdm or whatever login manager you have.
Alternatively, there's probably an openbox theme that has borders instead of window decorations. w/e. hope that helps
