Yeah my win8.1 desktops are pretty default looking and I haven't really bothered with any visual style editing. I haven't seen any new desktops that really have a "wow" factor, or I've just been on /w/ for so long that I have desensitized myself to good rice. idk.

Hmm...it looks familiar. Did you try to make a "brown" theme sometime during the summer?
As for your desktop. Are you running linux? Because I've never seen workspaces like that in bblean before.
>10/10, really comfy.

As far as 8.1 goes, you could try using Aero Glass either manually use API hooks to apply Aero Glass to the taskbar or use a program that does that anyways like Classic Shell.
It's too bad that there isn't an 8.1/8.1.1 version of Style Builder floating around the internet like there is for 7 (Apart from purchasing it).

>>
>>1736547
I wouldn't say all, but most are. I usually just make small changes. For instance, in the brown and purple desktops, I used Prime VS as a base and just made the borders so that they'd be consistent on all windows, but in some of my more recent ones I've used unedited Bello VS. I really like transparency because how versatile it is, so I try to fix borders and buttons to my liking.

im on w8.1 right now and have no complaints. There are plenty of VSes for it, and it's pretty easy to tweak shellstyle to further customize them. Check out neiio's work on dA. He has a lot of solid gets.

>>1736671
You can use rainmeter with bblean; or, at least used to be able to - I haven't seen a bblean + rainmeter setup for a long while. I don't recommend using rainmeter for interactive widgets, but there are some neat applications using rainmeter's transparent panels and bblean static overlays. Unless my memory deceives me, though, widgets don't stick around if you switch your workplace.

You 'intergrate' rainmeter by using it. Times where it looks like rainmeter is in the bbleanbar it's just positioned next to it and the bar is shortened. Also, ignore people like >>1736676 who still think that rainmeter can never be useful as they are wrong.

>How many layers do your wallpapers usually have?
My current one has 12 layers (that includes adjustment layers).
My first couple of wallpapers I made had very little layers. After a while I started using more and more layers, but nowadays I try not to use too many. It kind of depends what kind of wallpaper is in my mind.

> They look like a bunch of work and you switch them so frequently.
They are fun to make, so if I find good art for a wall, I'll try to make one for it.

>What do you do with the ones you don't use anymore?
Once I got a bunch of them, I put them in a zip and upload it on my DA. Sometimes I also go back to older walls if I feel like it or make changes to them.

By the way, your wallpaper has banding.

Hello, nice fonts. Yes, you do remove scrollbars within the gtk theme itself. I am not fluent in C by any means, but I picked out the parts I think you should look for:

In my honest opinion, it sucks. You can do a better job on that bbLeanBar. Get a better font rendering. Drop the captions or just forget transparency. Browser UI elements are too big. The colors don't really match, and the lack of a constant post width on 4chan annoys the hell outta me.

If it's your first time ricing, at least you got this far, but remember there will always be room for improving.

Most of you guys have pretty awesome desktops I have to say.

I myself wouldn't want to spent that much time on my own, since even my current one has taken more time than I would have liked.

Really, by this point you'd think there was easier methods in goin about it. :/

>>
>>1736970
What film is that?

You should download MPC if you ever plan on watching another movie, anime, etc.
>>
>>1736979
Well he could, but from experience you end up having all three VLC, MP and MPC because you always find something that doesn't play on a specific one.

Currently I have all three for a reason, but I can't remember anymore what that reason was.
>>
>>1737017
It´s "Der Untergang" which is .. "The Downfall" on english I think.

What are the pros of MPC?

Zabi sa kokot retardovany

>>
>>1737020
Super lightweight so it loads fast. Supports loads of file types. Getting good codec packs (CCCP, KCP) can improve video quality. I'm pretty sure it's 'free as in free beer' software.

Mainly it's the load times that do it for me, VLC takes about 3 decades to boot up whereas MPC is open before I've thought about it.

Simple, clean and not overdone. Great choice on the background color. The only thing I don't like is how gray the clock is. It doesn't match the white icons very well at all, plus the desktop looks kind of empty. Still, would personally give it a high rating even though it is such a basic set-up.

Wow, very nice. I would contemplate adding some kind of border, but that might ruin the aesthetic. Your bblean setup could use work though. It looks like just default bbcrim.
>>
>>1737707
That's because it is just default bbcrim mostly ;w;
In terms of changing and improving on it, I'm fairly stumped. The way it is now looks quite nice enough to me to warrant simply leaving it as is; at least for a while until I learn how to fiddle with my bblean a bit more.

I REALLY like this red. You managed to find that perfect h/s/l, non-cornea searing shade that is both extremely pleasing to look at and a lovely mixer for the other elements of your style. As the others have said, bblean needs a bit of sprucing but absolutely phenomenal otherwise.

My hard drive is crapping out and it's time for a fresh install. Contemplating moving up to Windows 8.1, does a workspace/twm environment play well with the new environment? I personally used windawesome on w7 but it's pretty buggy.
